Dog Accidentally Enters a Half Marathon, Finishes Ahead of Almost Everyone

Running a race takes a lot of training, hard work, and dedication . . . unless you're Ludivine the 2-year-old hound. For her, what it took was a little mischief, a little curiosity, and a lot of energy. She was playing in her yard when she spotted racers prepping for the Trackless Train Trek in Alabama. She joined in with them and despite getting distracted by some mules, cows, and dead animals, she still managed to take seventh place overall with an unofficial time of 1:32:56.

Ludivine's owner, April Hamlin, told Fox and Friends that it's awesome how her "dog has brought recognition to the Elkmont High School cross country team," and Canadian Running even revealed that the tiny Alabama town has decided to rename the race for next year as the Elkmont Hound Dog Half. Seems fitting.
