Feline Funhouse: Spoiled Sweet or Spoiled Rotten?

It's the Feline Funhouse ($69), a nylon netting romper room for kitties to sniff that sweet country (or city) air! This portable system folds, pops, and comes with its own carrying bag for adventures. So, if you want to give your indoor kitty a taste of the great outdoors – without losing her to a bird stalking mission – this nifty product could be for you. Its two zippered doors remind me of those insta-picnic-table-dome-cover thingies from camping trips of years past, and even comes with stakes and weights. How tentlike?! Other than backyard playtime or the occasional camping trip, I'm not sure kitty would prefer being outside in this to lounging inside in her normal environment. All you cat lovers out there, let me know, what's your take?

Considering the way my cat attacks her little mesh carrier, I don't think this would work for my high energy kitty cat.

It's reasonably priced, but it doesn't look like much fun. However, i'm always amazed at how content my cat, Milo, is to just lie down on the path whenever he gets outside, so they definitely do enjoy being outdoors even if they're not exploring. We're lucky though that our garden is small and enclosed and because he has three legs he can't jump the walls so we can let him have an hour out in the morning and the evening and just keep an eye on him from the kitchen. However, if we had a bigger, less enclosed garden this would be a good idea.

I think it's usefulness is entirely situational. In some situations, and with some cats, it may be great. I like the Kitty Walk system. You should do a post on it if you haven't already. The idea is the same at this thing, but it allows them to wander about and be able to go in and out of their house.

1) it still wouldnt protect them from parasites 2) It would be mean, cause you know they would see a bug, or lizard and beat themselves silly trying to get it.

i love it. whenever i open my glass door my cats plaster their noses up against the screen door they would love this. bigger would be better of course. dont know if this would contain my rambunctious kitten much less my almost 20 pound fatty.

It's a great idea, my cat loves outdoors but I don't love her wandering away or around by herself. This way I could let her be out there but safe. This is a little pricey at $69.00 for some mesh pop-up.

I have to say, it looks like a great idea, and I have tried it before. The problem was that once kitty gets a taste of the outdoors it is VERY hard to keep them inside. Cats make great escape artists! and I have had a few indoor kitties turn into outdoor kitties after using a similar item. I mean my cats have literally pushed screens out of windows just to get back outside!!

Cool idea, but looks a bit small for two cats. I'm not sure being outside in a mesh tent is going to make them happy - it seems kinda mean. They're "outside" but can't get at anything. It's just like being inside, but with fresher air and sunshine.

My Oliver is a 13 lb. chicken shit that is afraid of snowflakes viewed from the safety of a window. Wouldn't work for him. ;)

I think it is awesome!

I want something that's bigger, but that could just be me. With two rambunctious kitties, I want them to have room to play too. I think I'm just going to end up with harnesses on them.

I don't think this is a bad idea! My mom would love it, but I think he kitty's would bite through it.
