Have Your Pups Escaped the Crate Like Camden?

Here's an excerpt from a super-cute blog post from the OnSugar blog The Husky Diaries.

Once upon a time in a far away land there was a 16 week old puppy named Camden. He was growing so fast, at lightning speed, that one day while his dog parents were at work he exploded out of his crate with super hero doggy powers.

Check out more pictures and details about Camden's mischief here, but first tell me if your wily pups have ever done the same thing!

The owner wasn't putting the full-grown adult dog that is pictured in that small crate; that's the crate she used for him when he was a puppy. Anyway, I only crated my dog for a very short amount of time when I first got him. Now I let him roam my living room and kitchen and just close the doors to the bedroom and bathroom. And he's fine. He goes into his crate occasionally on his own, so I keep it out for him, though.

Maia has figured out how to maneuver the latch so as to free herself from her crate. I would come home to see two doggy faces peering out the windows at me instead of just one. Luckily, she hasn't destroyed anything, she just wants to curl up on the loveseat next to her brother.

Mocha has never escaped her crate (hers is a much sturdier metal based variety - the classic crate), but it has a tray that slides out from under it, and for the first several months there were occasional nights when I would come home to find out that she had managed to push it out from under her, sliding it clear across the kitchen floor... This was remedied by taking out the partition (since she was a puppy and the crate is on the bigger side I had split) and turning the crate so the only place the tray could go is against the kitchen wall... :-) Visit Mocha's blog: http://DoggoneKnits.Onsugar.com
