Pet Profiles: All About Angela1791's Doggie Dylan

Raising a pet takes a lot of hard work, patience, and plenty of love. Reader Angela1791 recently gushed about the good life with her doggie, Dylan.

PetSugar: When did you get your dog and what's his breed? Angela1791: We got Dylan in December 2006 as an early Christmas gift. He is four years and five months old and a Toy Australian Shepherd. He's a Red Merle in coloring.

PetSugar: What's your daily doggie routine?
Angela1791: We live in the city and do not have a backyard so Dylan goes on a morning walk. Then while we are at work he plays around the house and sleeps. He really loves to be challenged and loved his Puppy Agility class. His new toy that he plays with during work is the Star Mark Everlasting Fun Ball, which allows him the opportunity to use his problem solving skills to get the treat out. He will play with it for hours. When we get home from work we go on a really long walk or walk/run. At night he loves to play with his favorite toy frog.

PetSugar: What's your Dylan's favorite food, pastime, and treat?
Angela1791: Dylan loves to eat the braided bones from Trader Joe's. He is food motivated and loves most treats.

PetSugar: What was your all-time favorite moment with Dylan?
Angela1791: One of my favorite moments with Dylan was his first trip to the Oregon beach. He was so excited to run in an open area all day and try and herd the seagulls. He had the happiest look on his face.

Dylan stays home during the day from 7:45am - 5:30pm. I let him out during lunch until he was about 6 months old. At first I would leave out the puppy potty pads just in case but he never used them. He was really easy to potty train. Good luck with your puppy!

Dylan is really cute. How long do you leave him at home while you're at work? Or how long did it take you to be able to leave him all day without having to stop by for lunch and let him out? I'm asking because I think I'm going to start testing the waters and let the dog go without my daily lunch break.
