Jan 17 2012 - 4:00am

We are officially in love with Uggie, star of The Artist and Sunday's Golden Globe Awards [1], but he certainly isn't the first red carpet creature feature. Past premieres and award shows have played host to a zoo-full of critters, including dogs, horses, penguins, pigs, and more. We can't get enough of these glitzy pups and glamour pusses so we've rounded up 15 of our other favorite red carpet animal moments of all time.

Jason Alexander earns a hug from his primate costar at the 1996 premiere for Dunston Checks In.

Spotted! One of the Dalmatians from 102 Dalmatians and a not-so-evil Cruella De Vil (Glenn Close) in 2000.

Coffee monger "Juan Valdez" perked up audiences at the premiere of 2003's Bruce Almighty.

The premiere of 2003's Kangaroo Jack was a hopping good time for producer Jerry Bruckheimer.

Viggo Mortensen [2] cuts a dashing figure on his painted mount at the Hidalgo premiere in 2004.

We hope Javier isn't jealous of this dromedary Lothario. The camel accompanied Penélope Cruz to the premiere of 2005's Sahara.

Dakota Fanning [3] and her piglet Wilbur appeared at the 2006 premiere of Charlotte's Web.

Kristin Davis is not-so-shaggy in blue, but her costar in The Shaggy Dog (2006) more than makes up for it.

A vulture lands on the Cannes Film Festival red carpet to introduce 2006's animated feature Over the Hedge.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End star Geoffrey Rush seems surprised to find his costar upon his shoulder, in 2007.

A stunning Jennifer Lopez [4] and costar Nubbins do wheelies up the red carpet at the premiere for 2010's The Back-Up Plan.

One of three horses who played Secretariat in the 2010 film arrives at the premiere to a rapt crowd.

Crystal the monkey stole the show in 2010's The Hangover Part II and nearly overshadows Kristin Bell with her red carpet finery.

Carla Gugino and Jim Carrey [5] get a chilly welcome from some tuxedoed friends at the 2011 premiere of Mr. Popper's Penguins.

War Horse's Joey trots the red carpet with director Steven Spielberg [6] and costar Jeremy Irvine in January 2012.
