Picture of Big Dog Playing With Little Dog

Big Dog, Small Dog: Does Your Pet Have a Disproportionately Sized Buddy?

Our black pug Oliver has a hard time with other dogs, partly because we think he doesn't consider himself one. Our good friends have a big Rhodesian Ridgeback mix named Red, who loves to try to play with Oliver. On a recent vacation in Sonoma, this adorable picture was snapped of the two doggies having a moment. Well, I'm not sure Oliver was quite as into it as Red was. They're pretty cute together, especially because of the huge size differential. While Oliver might not consider himself and Red "friends" per se, does your pet have a disproportionately sized buddy?

my dachshund (SUPER short legs) LOVES to chase my parents whippets (SUPER long legs). It's comical to see her little legs moving so fast and the whippets just prancing around. She's also learned to cheat and cut corners when they're all running in circles to keep up with them haha

When I was a wee one, or family had a Miniature Schnauzer. She and the neighboring German Shepard were the best of friends. It was adorable to watch them play, as the Shepard was always careful not to step on her or play too roughly.

My Chihuahua (10 lbs.) used to play with my former roomie's pittbull/Australian shepherd mix (70 lbs.) all the time. He is completely used to bigger dogs, but any dog his size or smaller completely freaks him out.

Yes! My brother's golden is BFF's/roomates with a yorkie (his girlfriends dog). Very disproportionate, but so cute. And my big dog is BFF's with my little cat. They don't notice they aren't supposed to be friends.

My dog exclusively plays with dogs at least 3x her size. She doesn't seem to like other little dogs (though given her behavior I'm pretty sure she doesn't know she's little).

Our friends did a DNA test on Red and the results said that he was mostly Rhodesian Ridgeback. Such a beautiful dog and so beautiful!
