Silicone Dog Bowls

Stay Green, Clean, and Germ-Free on the Go With This Bowl

While it's definitely key to keep pets hydrated in warmer months, dropping temps don't mean you should drop this practice! There are several drink-up options on the go from sharing your bottle, packing disposable paper options, or even using a cloth, folding version instead. While I've admittedly done all three, this product is my best idea yet.

See just how and why when you read more.

Sharing your bottle. While sports caps make it easy to offer a taste of your water to a dog, if you're already trying to break this practice and go greener, there's a good chance you're not buying a bottle on the road.
  • Toting (and tossing) disposable paper options. Using paper (human) flatware that can later be tossed is another alternative but still not the most eco-tastic idea.
  • Bringing reusable cloth bowls. I've featured a few of these fashionable items in the past, but there's one big problem — cleaning them out afterward. I worry that the bowls don't ever get totally clean, especially during my giardia paranoia days.
  • On the other hand, this Aqua-fur bowl ($15) is reusable and eco-friendly — no garbage, check! — plus can be washed with mild detergent in the sink or tossed in the dishwasher. It's made of FDA-approved food-grade silicone so there are no dangerous BPEs either. Are you sold yet?
