A Toothbrush Plus Your Pet Equals . . . ?

I won't tattle on you to the doc since we all know brushing teeth is for the best. Even if your furry friends find it distasteful, when you do the deed, what reaction do you get?

Back when I had my pup, she loved getting her teeth brushed (poultry flavored toothpaste maybe). We both found it relaxing and bonding. On occasion she got CET chews (those wear her favs!). I was surprised she liked getting her teeth brushed seeing as she had been a stray before I picked her up at the shelter so its not like she was raised with it. But yeah, my Bunny loved her daily teeth brushings!

My vet said the only thing brushing your dogs teeth does is stress them and you out - I'm under vet advice to not do it! Logan gets dental chews, instead, and a plaque reducer added to his water. It costs a little more than brushing, but whenever I've brushed a dog's teeth it just turned into a drooly, yucky mess and doesn't accomplish much!

I hate doing it cause my dogs hate doing it. Its a fight every single time.

I also got Kylie the "Chew it Yourself" doggie toothbrush...looks like a chew bone, but you put toothpaste on the bristles of each end and let them chomp away for a few minutes each day. I don't do it every day, but she loves when I let her brush her own teeth, not so much when I want to get in there myself!

Zena smiles. Why? She gets C.E.T dental chews! Our vet gave them to us when we told her she resists toothbrushes and they don't tear up her digestive tract either!

One of my pups bears it, the other... you'd think I was trying to pull out a tooth! She struggles and snorts and tries to run under the couch.
