Why Does Reuben Do This?

Here's a super-cute video from the OnSugar blog Loving Life in Vermont.

This is a new thing for Reuben: Rolling on the floor after a bath. In his whole year of life, never have I seen him do this. Recently Reuben got an ear infection from "snow diving," so could that have something to do with it? I'm not sure, but it's hilarious! Do any of your dogs do this?

PetSugar; I would definitely take him to the vet only because he had never done this before. My dashunds do this all the time; but they have done so since I got them (and I got them both when they were around 4 months old). This is very cute and funny; but I would also be worried that he might have water in his ear, which can cause worse problems in the future...

My Yorkie does it everytime he has a bath and everytime he drinks his water. He is drying himself. My Boston doesn't but sometimes she will roll on her snack before she eats it. Weird but very cute!

Zena does that routine at least three times a day ever since we adopted her. It's one of her quirks. If this is new, water probably got in his ears and might have infected his ear again. It's best to put cotton balls in his ears before you bathe him so water and debris don't get in his ears.

My dog does this but usually after his ears are cleaned.

If he has never done this before, I would suggest that water got into his ear canal. I would watch him for excessive head shaking and scratching his ears. If this behavior continues, I would take him to a vet.

My dog Bella does that all the time, she has her whole 10 years I've owned her. For her it's because she is very much a princess and hates being wet, so that is how she dries herself off and gets back at me for making her get wet. My other dog, Chaos, he loves the water so I don't have the problem with him.
