April Fool's Day Pranks For the Office

April Fool's Pranks For the Office

I've never been one to pull pranks on my co-workers, but am more than ready to laugh at other people's pranks — as long as they're not too mean or could jeopardize your job — and can appreciate a prank even if I'm the victim. I used to work in an office where grown men were infatuated with a fart machine, and I must say, it never got old. If you've been searching for a prank to pull in your office this April Fool's Day, I've chosen my favorite few from Careerbuilder's survey that was used to compile their Top 10 Office Pranks.

  • All the women in office individually spoke to the president, confiding that she is pregnant. By noon, he 'knew' that all of his female workers were pregnant and he could not tell anyone because each asked for confidentially.
  • Placed a pair of pants and shoes inside the only toilet stall in a men's room to make it appear someone was using the stall. It sat there for hours until someone called security to check if the person had died.
  • Placed a sign on the restroom door that read, "The company ran out of toilet tissue; please use your own resources."

Oh and I just remembered another thing I once did. I was a cashier at a store that had those black pad things under the counter that would let out a buzz whenever a security sensor was on it. There was a girl that would always get on my last nerve so one day I turned the volume on her buzz thingy so whenever a customer walked out the alarm would go off. When the alarm went off I would scold her for not paying attention to the sensors. Mean? Yes. Funny? HELL YEAH!

Our office kitchen had one of those spray hose things in the sink. Since I worked super early in the morning, before most of the office was in, I tied a rubber band around the "trigger" so whenever someone turned on the water to wash their hands they would get soaked. I never did get to see who got soaked because when I came back later the rubber band was taken off. One of my first jobs was at a large drug store chain and one of the guys came into the little cashier's office with a super red face. Apparently another guy went behind him, took the waxy paper stuff off a maxi pad and stuck it on his back. He was working like that for a while until one of the female customers told him and took it off for him. AHHHH. Good times.

a guy at my university had a fart machine in the library once, with a remote, and would sit inside a quiet room, behind a glass partition and set it off everytime a geek would walk by it....until one geek got extra mad and freaked out on us...we were behind the sound proof glass window laughing hysterically while this dork went insane on us....like, relax buddy!

Two years ago, I shut off the copier put an out of order sign with with a fake call in confirmation number for repair with a message that the Tech wasn't available until the next day and everyone in the office went beserk. They were running to other offices to make copies and they would bang the copier or suck their teeth everytime they walked by it. I never laughed so hard in my life.
