Best Places to Live

Do You Pay Attention to Best Places to Live Rankings?

Each year, Money magazine ranks 100 small towns as the best places to live in the US, based on factors like unemployment rates, home affordability, and quality of life. It's interesting to see which small towns get recognized, but I'm not exactly dissecting the results to determine my next move. By the way, Louisville, CO, is this year's winner. Do you pay attention to these rankings?

Not necessarily the small town ones, but I definitely take a peek at other rankings. I grew up in Hawaii, and would someday like to move back, so it's always interesting to see where its cities and towns rank. Since it's a high cost of living, it sometimes does bad, but people are generally happy with their lives and the weather is beautiful, so that sometimes bumps it up. It all depends on the methodology used.

Yes. My husband and I considered the best countries to live in lists when we decided to move abroad.

It's interesting to me, but I'd never move somewhere just because it made the list. To me, the best place to live is the place where you have family, friends, a job, and a decent place to live.

No, not when it comes to small towns. Because of my personality, I think I'm better suited for major metropolitan areas.

I'm interested in these rankings, but I've only ever lived in or near huge metros and plan on continuing to do so.
