How Did Your State Rank? The Best and Worst States For Working Moms

Being a mother who works means tackling all kinds of tasks at once, so being in a supportive environment makes life all the easier. All You shares the country's best and worst places to be as a working mother.

If you're a working mom who juggles both career and family, this might perk up your ears. The personal finance social network WalletHub recently released a fascinating study on the best—and worst—states for working mothers. In it, researchers examined nine different metrics for every U.S. state, including the quality of daycare systems, childcare costs, the gender pay gap, length of the average woman's work day and commute time. States were ranked in each of the nine categories, then ranked overall.

After the dust settled, here's how the states stacked up:

The best states for working moms:

1. Oregon
2. District of Columbia
3. Vermont
4. Maine
5. New York
6. Delaware
7. Rhode Island
