Career Advice From Michelle Obama: Ask Stupid Questions

I used to shy away from asking questions because I didn't want to seem stupid. Over the years, I've realized that avoiding questions will get you nowhere because you're not learning anything if you don't know what the answers are. It's important for people to understand the fact that everyone asks questions, and you should never be ashamed of wanting to learn.

Michelle Obama highlights the importance of asking questions to a group of UK students from the Elizabeth Garrett Anderson girls' school:

"The things I tell my girls are the same things I tell you. Don’t be afraid to fail. Don’t be afraid to take risks. Learn to use your voice now. Ask questions. Ask stupid questions. Don't be afraid to trip, fall and don't be afraid to get back up."
