Spookified Halloween Push Lights

Head to the dollar store and pick up push lights and a pack of permanent markers for creating spooky lighting this Halloween. This project is so easy, making it a fun one to do with your younger nieces and nephews. From bloodshot eyes to glowing grins, get creative with your design for an eerie welcoming light. And it basically costs one dollar per light to DIY! Here's what to do:

  1. Start by creating a sketch of what you're planning on making. Spiders hanging in spiderwebs, flying bats, or even a witch on a broom are all great ideas. Once you're ready, start working, using different colors of markers or sticking with black. Draw from the top down to avoid smudging. And you can always create an outline with washable markers before reaching for the permanent colors.
  1. Let dry, then go over the marker again to create really solid areas of color. If you find the marker is pulling up the layer below, let the marker set for at least 20 minutes, then try again.
  1. Once dry, your push light is ready to use! Place in your entryway, along your driveway, or even in a corner of your living room.
