Dealing With a Bad Boss

Your Two Cents: Would You Sell Your Boss?

Do you love everything about your job, except for your boss? Well, if you can't stand your boss then get her out of the kitchen! Yellojobs is an online recruiting company whose advertising suggests you refer your boss to be considered for positions at other companies. Once your boss's name has been passed on, they'll be invited to apply for a job and told who passed on their name. The company is exclusively in India and rewards someone behind a successful referral with about $133, and their plans to expand to the US in May include a reward of $1,500 per successful referral.

my boss is pretty nice... but they can have some of my co-workers. I think they will be very well received in India!

There's more than one way to skin a cat - if you don't want your boss knowing you gave the referral, ask a friendly client or contact to do you the favor. The problem, of course, is that if you're working for a good ol' corporate sociopath, you'll have to deal with the power vacuum in your own office and will be paying forward in bad karma.

i think that when there's anything thta there's not guarantee that it'll be anonymous is a bad idea. it's just not a good feeling to think that even if you don't like your boss and you recommend them for something elsewhere that it won't come to bite you in the butt.

(Or sync his own PDA.) He's a nice guy, though.

I'm in a similar boat to MarinerMandy...I don't think anyone would take mine anyway, he can't even be bothered to clear out the old paperwork and messages on his own desk himself :p

Same for me Mariner! But, if I could, I would absolutely.

Unfortunately, my boss owns the company so I think this strategy is out for me!
