Don't dislike this idea quite yet — especially after GeekSugar warned about the hidden dangers of third-party apps like Facebook's "fake" dislike button — but you can now buy plane tickets right from the social network. While I already fan and consult hotels I like, and follow other travel sources on Twitter to get a deal, I don't consider those to be my go-to places come booking time. After all, even special deals announced there first are still redirected to the airline pages . . . until now.
Last week, Delta Airlines launched their Delta Ticket Window allowing users to book directly through the airline’s Facebook page. With standard website security precautions explained, it seems like any other time someone makes a purchase online. I give the airline credit to be the first to offer this service and I'd bet others would follow suit soon. Would you book a flight on Facebook or are you not totally onboard?
