Do You Long For Summer Vacations?

I'm Asking: Do You Long For Summer Vacations?

After we've received enough education to get us by in the real world, most of us were thrown in to the daily grind of working life. Sometimes it's difficult to imagine what life would be like if we still had summer vacations like we did during school, but I sure long for those days!

I love my job like no other, but wouldn't it be amazing to have two months, heck one month, of pure relaxation?! What would you do if you had a summer vacation tapping you on the shoulder right about now? Would you go away, pick up a new hobby, get in shape, do nothing at all — do tell!

i would so totally love to have a summer vacation, but of course, once you leave school and you have one of those jobs that doesn't stop for the summer, you miss out. we do get vacation, so i'm kind of happy about that - but it's sometimes hard to figure out when you CAN take days and all that.

I was just thinking of this the other day ... I'd love a block of time for just relaxing! Though when I was a child my mother practically always insisted on homeschooling me and my brother in essay writing and math so our brains would "stay active" during the summer before the new school year. Bleh. At least I get 25 days p.a. of vacation time in my current job!

I'm a public school teacher and I have from mid-June to the end of August off every year. It's one of the best perks of the job, I'll tell you...I can't even express how amazing it is to have all that time off.

My sisters teaches 2nd grade, she just got out of the summer! AND my boyfriend is a jeweler and works for a store that closes during the summer (no one comes to palm desert when it's 120+ degrees) so he has from July 18-Sept 8th off. I'm so jealous. Punk!

I live for my one week vacation a year to escape it all. It's the only time I sleep peacefully, eat healthier, and live stress-free! Vacations for working people should be longer !!

I'm SO glad I'm still in high school! I'm enjoying my summer to the max. =] I do have a summer job though, like 25 hours a weeks, so I'm not sitting around doing nothing.

My husband is on summer break right now, he counted down for the last 2 months and I wanted to hurt him since I have no break in sight... just work... and the occasional long weekend when I take a day off. I have yet to just take even a week in my 2 years of working. I'm allowed, but it freaks me out a little to just leave everything. I'd like the summer off as long as everything else stopped, I am like a kid who is sure ppl have fun after their bedtime and really really hate to give my work to someone else... but, since criminals don't take the summer off, I guess I don't either...

Any vacation time would be nice, but with two months, I'd use the first to re-organize my life, get re-acquainted with my home and neighborhood and California... then I'd pick a country and go spend a month wandering about. I love flea markets anywhere and would spend time looking for local treasure and learning about local foods.

I would head to the beach everyday and check off books from my "must read" list. Sleep in till the cows come home, visit our local touristy spots, picnics, my house would be super organized and clean. What I wouldn't give to have at least 1 month off during the summer...

I do miss summer vacations! I always took summer classes during college so I didn't have the typical summer that people dream of. However, I will be quitting my job at the end of June and will be going with a program to Taiwan for the month of July. Then I'll spend some of August at home before moving to Boston for school. After that, I don't think I'll ever have a real summer again.

I am finally in a job that gives me vacation time, so for the first time in a long time, I will have a full week off just to do nothing! I plan to visit the beach, wander around my city, and read on my balcony. Sometimes, vacationing is just to stressful with all the travel and the packing..

Heck ya - I work for a university but don't get summer vacation which is hard since while there is summer school, campus is pretty dead over the summer. I'm so jealous of the students!

Of course I would love it - but I don't really miss school, which is what I associate summer vacation with.

Oh, that would be so nice! I would love to have time to catch up on reading, relax, and travel! With younger siblings who are still enjoying summer vacation, it makes my life challenging. I am planning to take a week off in September, though!

i would LOVE to have a summer vacation. i'm still in nursing school right now, but i ended up working full time this summer to make some $$$ again before school starts in august. if i had time off (& the money to do so) i'd probably spend the time travelling & reading & relaxing.

I am on summer vacation. I just finished my second year of teaching high school science. School ended last Thursday, and I am STILL exhausted. The vacations are amazing, but you sure do make up for it the rest of the year.

I always long for summer vacation, I swear I might go back to school just to be a teacher and get their work schedule (not that their jobs are easy!) I would love to have 2 months vacation plus all the other holiday vacations off - how sweet would that be? I would hit the beach/pool like everyday and take my baby to the park and have picnics :D
