Does Happiness in Life Mean Happiness at Work For You?

My life experience tells me most curmudgeons are cranky no matter where they are, which is why a new study that reports people who are unhappy in life generally have a hard time being happy at work comes as no surprise to me.

You might make the argument that satisfaction in one place breeds satisfaction in the other and life stress and work stress are completely different. However, the study found the "causal link between subjective well-being and subsequent levels of job satisfaction was stronger than the link between job satisfaction and subsequent levels of subjective well-being." How does the work-life satisfaction scale balance out for you?

You're right, skigurl, it's hard to turn your feelings off, but I find I can easily distract myself from home troubles at work, and vice-versa.

if i'm unhappy in life for some reason, or having a bad day because of a personal reason, sure that may project on my work day as well...usually because i'd be distracted though, not necessarily mean to others or anything like that the same goes for work..if you have a bad day there, you may bring that home...it's hard to completely turn off your feelings, but i do try to leave work at work...sometimes i'll take 10 minutes of venting time after work on the phone to tell my boyfriend my troubles but by the time i'm in the car, i'm over it and don't bring it up again
