I don't consider it an entry level position because technically, they're volunteer positions in which one gets paid a "living allowance" (not technically a salary). It's designed to allow its volunteers to be able to just survive, and it's not intended to be a salary.

i'm going to do peacecorps when i graduate in may. i'm so ready for the challenge.tee, why would the salary being based on the poverty level make it not an entry level position?

Also, I don't think AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and Teach for America should count as entry level employers. Technically, most of those positions are contracted volunteer positions that pay "living allowances" based on the poverty level (at least that's the case for AmeriCorps VISTA).

Ugh, AmeriCorps. I did that. It was stressful. I hear Teach for America is worse.

This makes me very happy considering I graduate in May. Now my only problem is if any of these companys hire communication majors!
