Florida Shoplifters Caught

News Flash: Multimillion Dollar Shoplifting Ring Busted

What began as an investigation of a solo shoplifting incident led to the arrest of an 18 person crime ring in Florida on Friday. The thieves stole an array of health and beauty items and police estimate they stole between $60 and $100 million worth of products. The items were sold on eBay or at flea markets, which makes me think about the origin of items I've purchased on eBay! Talk about organized crime.

that seems like quite the successful thing - it's horrible to think that it was so easy for them to do it - and only now are they getting caught

I'm sure this happens pretty often in all states. Maybe not to such a large degree, but of course people steal and resell on eBay. It's akin to buying a DVD player from your local crackhead.

ebay is a good thing to bring up. Isn't it illegal to purchase stolen merchandise or goods? I'm pretty sure all of those new items that come up and have tags on them and such have to be stolen. Not good.
