Forbes Ranks the Top-Paying Jobs For Women

Women aren't paid equally in the workplace just yet, but some positions bode better than others when it comes to making money. Using the US Department of Labor Women's Bureau 2008 analysis, Forbes ranked women's median weekly earnings to come up with the highest-paying jobs for women. The job that turned up as number one surprised the Forbes team; they didn't expect women pharmacists to top the list. See the 10 highest-paying jobs below.

  1. Computer Scientists and System Analysts: Women's median yearly earnings: $56,264; percentage of men's earnings: 83.7 percent.
  2. Speech-language Pathologists: Women's median yearly earnings: $58,448; percentage of men's earnings: 100 percent.
  3. Human Resource Managers: Women's median yearly earnings: $59,124; percentage of men's earnings: 67.9 percent.
  4. Management Analysts: Women's median yearly earnings: $59,228; percentage of men's earnings: 78 percent.
  5. Physicians and Surgeons: Women's median yearly earnings: $63,960; percentage of men's earnings: 59.1 percent.
