How Much Did You Spend on Gas in 2009?

Sure, we've seen worse days when it came to gas prices this year, but regardless, filling up the tank in 2009 still took a toll on our wallets. It seemed a lot more commuters were back to driving this year when we enjoyed some of the lowest gas prices we'd seen in a while, but once we saw prices rise again, public transportation was jam-packed. Being huddled up in a crowded bus isn't exactly my ideal for getting to work, but with gas prices creeping back up, cramming in seemed a better option than forking over some major cash at the gas station. These roller coaster pump prices were hard to keep up with, but we couldn't finish up our Best of 2009 coverage without your feedback — we want to know, how much did you spend on gas this year?

Two years ago I was spending less than $500...then the company moved outside of the city and I'm spending $1500 on gas. SUCKS!

tarabara1229: I have to agree with you I miss the public transportation I had available when I lived in New York, Chicago and Sydney. I love taking trains, most of the time I prefer them to flying, and the $40 per week I shell out for gas is putting a serious dent in my shoe budget. I wish LA would get a decent subway system. I can't believe a city this size still doesn't have one.

This makes me sick to think about. I spent over $1000... think of all the other things I could have done with that money!

I probably spent about $20/week. It's not so bad thanks to my Yaris and relatively short commute. But if LA had decent public transportation, I'd definitely do that. I mean, who likes driving anyway?

About $60/week... I SO wish my work was in the city, I have no choice but to drive.
