How Much Did You Spend on Your Honeymoon?

I'm Asking: How Much Did You Spend on Your Honeymoon?

I'll be honest. My husband and I went all out on our honeymoon and spent more than I'd ever imagined on a vacation, but we saved for it and actually ended our trip under budget.

No matter what your vision for romantic your post-wedding getaway, the most important thing is that you don't go into debt for it. The only memories you want from your one-of-a-kind trip are the ones on your camera, not on your credit card statement. So, how much did you spend on your honeymoon?

We took a Hawaiian cruise and then spent 3 additional days at Waikiki Beach. All together we spent about $8,000. It was well worth it and most likely a once in a lifetime experience.

we are doing 3 mini honeymoons- the first was to cozumel for 4 days, im guessing we spent ~ $3000, the 2nd is a surprise so I don't know any details at all! The third will be in France (where my husband is from) but we had to go there anyways for a wedding and to visit his family for a few days, so the honeymoon there will be inexpensive as the air travel doesn't count (hehe) so probably $1500 for 3 days probably.

My husband and I did a lot of research and we found an online deal for 6 nights in Paris with airfare for $2,000. We probably spent another $1,000 on food, museum admissions and shopping while there, so $3,000 for a honeymoon in Paris. It's your honeymoon! You have the whole rest of your life to be cheap, do some research and find the trip of your dreams.

We had a nice, simple honeymoon. We spent around $500-$600 to rent a cabin in northern Wisconsin for a week and we spent all the cash we got at our wedding (something like $200-$300) on the food and little side trips while we were up there. For the most part, we hiked a lot and went canoeing and fishing...really low-key activities.

We didn't have one either. In a few years we plan to splurge on a really great vacation for the two of us. It will be a lot nicer than what we could afford when we first got married. We'll probably spend around $10,000-$15,000.

None. We chose not to have one, as we chose not to have a wedding. These were traditions we opted out of. :)

We spend probably somewhere around $2000-2500. There are so many things that can affect the budget of a honeymoon - length of stay, destination, type of hotel, etc. But it's all about setting expectations and knowing what you want to get out of the trip.
