I'm Asking: What's the Farthest You've Traveled For a Wedding?

I'm Asking: What's the Farthest You've Traveled For a Wedding?

A friend of mine just returned from a three-week vacation that spanned seven countries, and it all kicked off with a wedding in southern France. She made the most of her long-distance trip by turning the single event into a full-blown vacation, smart girl.

It's certainly going the distance for a pal to attend a wedding overseas. I've never had the opportunity to attend an international wedding, but I've flown cross-country for nuptials. What's the farthest you've traveled?

Birmingham, England from South Florida. But it was during my spring break so it was a mini vacation. Never again though, because I only had maybe 1 whole day for the vacation portion.

San Diego to upstate NY for a weekend...I ended up spending more time flying and during lay-overs in airports then I actually did at the weddings and hanging out with my friends. But it was definitely worth it!

Not too far...we drove out to Minnesota for my husband's cousin's wedding. I think it was a 9 hour drive or so. I'm not sure I'd travel across the country for a wedding unless it was for my immediate family.

I've done LA-NY and LA-Boston for 3 weddings. We are going to Cancun in October for a wedding this year. A few people travelled cross country for my wedding last year and I tried to express my gratitude for their travels! Some people don't fully take into consideration what goes into travelling that much.

East coast to Hawaii, several times. I grew up in Hawaii though, so of course all of my high school friends get married there (including me!). We live all over the mainland now, but a lot of us manage to make it back for each of the weddings.

the furthest was just long island up to rutland, vermont...and all my friends keep getting engaged and promising luxurious destination weddings, which i would just turn into a personal vacation...but they all chicken out and going local...enough long island weddings already!
