I'm Asking: What Plans Do You Have For Your Tax Return?

Any time extra money appears in your bank account, it's generally a good day. While I'm an advocate of trying to receive as little of a tax refund possible by properly adjusting your W-4, many of you have said you consider your tax return as automatic savings. My return this year won't be anything to write home about, so I'm wondering, what do you have in store for your tax return?

I am going to pay off a medical bill and a credit card bill, then my student loan, buy a living room set, spend $200 on me, $200 on my kids and then divide the remainder between my Avon business and savings accounts.

My husband is making a slightly scary but wholly necessary change from a fixed income to a more commission-based position with a lower base, so we're going to be using our income to help us out over the next six weeks or so while things even themselves out. Luckily, the timing is working out perfectly to be able to do that.

catching up from the xmas spending (got a little carried away). We are also buying a new computer with his refund since our computer is so slow it may as well be dead. Whatever is left will be put into savings since I've been cut down to part time at my job and I don't have a lot of extra money anymore :(.

honestly I want to pay off my credit cards but I dont know if I will. Since I am not going anywhere for Spring Break this year, that might actually be possible to save some change. I need to get my numbers in order!

i paid off my credit card last year while i was unemployed (i'm amazed that i was able to pull that off), so thankfully i've got no more "bad debt" to pay off. my refund will probably go straight into savings, in preparation for my wedding next year, but i'm thinking about maybe putting half of it toward my student loans.

We are getting that first time home buyers credit so i am so excited. We are going to do work to our house, replace the windows, new garage door, finish the upstairs, hopefully.

I'm going to use it to finance my move - I don't have any credit cards, so I'm pretty much excited for my refund!

Our motorcycle was stolen, and has a lot of damages to it, so even though we are getting restitution from the little jit who stole it, probably all of our refund will have to go to that. Since it was stolen we have had to push back our move across country for 5 months, which means we have also lost a semester of school. Unfortunately we just can't leave it. :( So, to get it back as fast as we can, all of our extra money goes to that.

I'm getting a very nice refund and every cent of it is going to pay off medical bills. I don't get to enjoy any of the cash or go on vacation - BLAH!
