I'm Asking: When Are You Going to File Your Taxes?

I'm Asking: When Are You Going to File Your Taxes?

We've passed the Jan. 31 deadline for businesses to release employee W-2 forms, and most of us are now weighing whether we will do our own taxes or hire help. Completing tax returns is tedious and can be time-consuming if you don't set a date and force yourself through the denial and procrastination.

Have you set a goal date to complete your taxes, or do you suspect you will end up in the April 14 panic?

I mailed mine out on January 30th. Wooohoooo! Now I'm just waiting patiently for my refunds, assuming CA has any money to give state residents, which I hear may not be happening. :(

I am sending the paperwork to the accountant today. I usually do them myself but we bought a house last year and am too nervous to do them myself this year.

Done! I did mine as soon as I got my W-2's. I knew I was getting money back so I figured the sooner I got them done, the sooner I could get my refund.

I have already done mine, but I'm going to have to do a 1040X because my company came to me the other day and said they screwed something up on a hand full of W2s. And mine was one of them. :(

When I get the paperwork from school (they won't post it for another week or two probably) and my jobs.. I think we have until April 30th in Canada. My goal this year is to file before July, which is when I usually get around to it (so bad, I know I know I just always procrastinate, and because I never owe money they never chase me lol)
