Jon Bon Jovi Opens Community Restaurant Soul Kitchen

Brilliant or Baffling: Jon Bon Jovi's Pay-What-You-Want Restaurant

Jon Bon Jovi's nonprofit organization is opening a new restaurant that will feed the hungry without asking for bucks in return. Called Soul Kitchen, the community restaurant will be opening in Red Bank, NJ. There won't be any prices on the menus, and diners can choose to pay whatever price they want for the dishes. For those who don't have cash to give, they are encouraged to volunteer instead, paying for the meal with their time and energy. So what do you think, is this a brilliant or baffling idea?

I actually read in Reader's Digest about a restaurant with the same idea formed by a couple out in the Midwest (I think?) the principal was that customers can pay what they can for meals and for those that are disadvantaged and can't afford to pay they can "work" in exchange for meals. What a great concept, from this couple and Bon Jovi alike, I hope more of these places pop up. I will definitely visit Bon Jovi's restaurant in Red Bank!
