Savvy Savings Challenge: How Much Have You Saved?

We're hosting a 40-day Savvy Savings Challenge in the SavvySugar Community with the hopes of helping one another make smarter choices and build our piggy banks. I've promised to forgo all unnecessary spending — I'm not allowed to drive to work for convenience or clothes shop — for all of Lent. I've invited you all to join in the savings group and make your own sacrifices, and am motivated to be saving in good company.

How am I doing? I made it through the weekend without wavering on my goal to stay out of shops, but like the previous weekend, it wasn't easy. It takes strong willpower to stay out of stores when you have free time to cruise and upcoming events you want to look dolled up for. While I can't estimate how much I've saved by not buying clothes, I believe I've saved at least $144 by riding the bus to work every day (and that's with my cheat day!).

How much have you saved? Join the Savvy Savings Challenge and share your savings plan, then update the group daily or weekly with your pitfalls and success stories. The community and I will be your personal finance trainers!
