Summer Saving Tip: Avoid Sunscreen Stains

Summertime gives us the opportunity to get a glow beyond the one from our computer screens. Basking in the sun demands skin protection, and Consumer Reports put 10 products to the test to determine which sunscreens are worth your money. The magazine also came up with some very helpful insight as a result of its lab work. In its July issue, CR observes, "All of the products stained when applied directly to various fabrics and left to sit for a day. Only about half the labels warned about staining." Do your wallet a favor, and wash clothes the same day they were covering your sunscreen-coated body to avoid the cost of replacing stained items.

Hmm, I've never thought about this before, but it makes sense to me. I hate it when the sunscreen stains my clothes, so I generally try to let it dry a bit before getting dressed. Guess I'll have to start doing a load of "sunscreen-covered" stuff when I get back from the beach now.
