Tip For Saving Money on a Bachelorette Party

Bachelorette Saving Tip: Skip the Weekend Away

Between engagement parties, bridal showers, and bachelorette parties, being betrothed can add up quickly — before your big day even arrives! Although bachelorette weekends in Vegas or Napa have become pretty popular (and for good reason!), they can also be a huge source of financial stress for both you and your bridal party. Why not save some dough by limiting your bachelorette festivities to one day, instead of going all out for an entire weekend?

If just one night of celebrating doesn’t sound like enough fun, consider making a whole day out of it. For my bachelorette soiree, I spent the day brunching and getting manicures with my bridesmaids, then we all had dinner together before hitting the town. I got to spend some serious quality time with my friends and sisters, without breaking the bank with an entire weekend away.

Another suggestion if you want to do a weekend away, but fear not everyone can afford it, is to book a few hotel rooms in the largest city nearest you (obviously this doesn't work as well if you actually live in or very close to the city). But, for my sister's bachelorette party, we stayed in Cleveland for the night and went to dinner (and bars, etc.) there. Cleveland is only about 30 miles from where she (and the majority of her bridesmaids) live, but it was still a bit of a getaway because we did spend the night and because none of the ladies typically go out to Cleveland bars (they usually opt for places closer to home). And, even though everyone wound up spending the night, it gave people the option to head home for the evening if they couldn't afford to stay.
