Tips for Organizing Your Paperwork

Savvy Resolution: Organize Your Paperwork and Files

If you are lucky, you might be able to leave work at work. Most people aren't that lucky. Creating a work space at home that will motivate and equip you to do the work you're setting out to accomplish in 2010 is key to your mental health and productivity when working on your time. Once you've set up your desk, move on to organizing your paperwork and files.

I recently picked up a handy shelf like this Silver Mesh Basket Ladder ($40). I'm going to store my current bills in the top basket, loose papers in the second, and current magazines in the third. After bills are paid, they will be archived in my file cabinet and outdated magazines will be passed to friends or recycled. Want to make sense of your files? Check out some of these helpful tools — all on sale for less than $40.
