Would You Consider Being a Human Lab Rat?

Not sure how safe I'd feel taking experimental medication for a living. Dan Solomon decided that working for a living was not what he wanted to do, and took on a job as a human lab rat for three years. Some of his job responsibilities included having blood drawn up to 20 times a day, eating yucky hospital-type food, and living with other human lab rats. These are people whose companies test out their non-FDA approved stuff on. The perks of the job? Earning about $200 a night, no boss, and tons of free time. Is this something you would consider if you wanted to earn some extra cash on the side?

I wouldn't risk my good health just for money, but if I was suffering from a serious illness I'd probably be willing to try experimental treatments.

I took a medication for a GAD study before. It was a couple of months and I got free therapy with it. No side effects from it, but I did make a bit of money. I doubt I would do anything more than that.

I've participated in a few medical research studies, but nothing to do with experimental meds. I would be way too worried about the possible side effects!

I wouldn't mind the drawing blood or the food, but I would never be able to forgive myself if some of the side effects turned out to be infertility for example, or things like that.
