What Do You Know About 99 Cent Stores?

The cheap-stuff chain stores with the 99 Cents Only name thought long and hard about raising their prices above 99 cents. They've reached a decision that will help their bottom line and technically avoid pricing their items as $1: The highest price you'll find is 99.99 cents. I did terrible at this! I've never heard of this store either, but I go to the Dollar Tree often for giftbags, wrapping paper & cleaning supplies.

wow - at least i got 2 out of 3 there. for myself - i've been to a $.99 store and i really like them, and my threshold for spending there is not more than $10. i think that if i go over that much then i'm buying too many things!

I am actually very surprised that most of their products are made in the United States.

I did horribly on this. The only item that I generally buy from dollar stores is gift wrap, because it's EXTREMELY overpriced elsewhere.

They're all over NYC. I usually buy cleaning products, sponges and dish cloths.

0/3. These stores are on the west coast and when I do visit California I always make a trip. I've seen whole heads of lettuce, frozen meals that retail for $4 or more and even bottles of wine.
