Health care. We can't find enough nurses, med techs, CNAs, etc. to meet the demands most of the time. It's a tough field, but at least you know you are always needed.

I'm in higher education and you don't hear about people getting fired or laid off too often, though it has happened this year. What's more common: cutting budgets over and over, hiring freezes, and salary freezes. We haven't gotten COL adjustments in about three years. No raises in the same amount of time. I'm thankful that I love my job, though.

What about education? I know there have been some cuts in the schools (as in all fields), but overall education is a pretty secure field to be in right now.
