Work Friends

Do You Have a Work BFF?

Finding close friends at the office can make your time away from home feel more meaningful and make long days feel shorter. They're there for chatting, venting, occasional long lunches, and happy hours. We also know that there can be a downside to mixing friendship and the office, but I think the benefits far outweigh any possible negatives. Do you have someone you turn to at work?

I usually have a work BFF at every job I have. It really makes the days go by faster and I can tell her things I can't share with other people because she doesn't know my other friends.

At my current job, I work with great people and enjoy their company, but I try to keep the conversation professional. However, my last job was so miserable that there was constant venting & bonding going on. I make three great girl friends there, and fortunately none of them have to work there now either.

I have a work BFF that I could not live without. We go to lunch everyday together and we hang out on the weekends sometime. We both have completely and totally insane lives out of work so it's nice to have that person at work who is there everyday.

I wouldn't get through the day without my work BFF. I'm sort of friendly with a few other people, but am really uncomfortable with the idea of doing anything with them outside of work. I try to keep work separate from my personal life, but with my work BFF, we just bonded too much for me to want to keep her out of the rest of my life.

I work with an awesome group of people. It's hard to not know everyone even though we are a pretty big place, but it's cool.

Of course, I couldn't live without HIM.

I'm a Realtor in my office and feel as if I work with 5 of the most awesome people ever. It really makes coming to work everyday wonderful. We are all in our 20's and 30's and all share gossip with relationships, talk about the new hotspots, share restaurant fav's etc. It's great and I wouldn't change it for the world.

I used to have a "work husband" but he moved on to a bigger and better job. I'm friends with a guy who's 20 years older than me at my job. I used to talk to him about everything but recently have realized I need to keep talk of my personal life to a minimum as he started getting a little creepy and wanted to hang out all the time.Sometimes he and I, along with a girl and guy my age, will go out to dinner or watch a game once a month, but that's the extent of it. I don't like people at work knowing too much detail about my personal life.

I'm friends with one of the stylists at the salon I work at...she trained me and everything, so we're kinda close already. I haven't gotten up the courage to invite her to drinks or lunch, though...we'll see. :)

Been lucky enough to find a great group of girls at the office. We work in different departments, so I am sure that is why we are such great friends. Deff not so hot on being close with people in MY group- had some bad experiences that I don't care to have happen again!

I totally have a work bestie, and we are super close! We bonded when we both broke up with our boyfriends at the same time and were always crying in the bathroom, and I tipped her off on how I begged my boss for broken-heart leave (a day to bawl my eyes out basically) and got it. He gave her the same, and we've been thick ever since!

I used to have a work BFF, but she moved on and up in her career. Now I don't really mingle with my coworkers. It's easier to keep my distance.

I had some good friends in previous jobs, but in my current job, my department consists of mainly people in different lifestyles. Unlike everyone else, I'm unmarried and I don't have kids. I think lifestyle differences prohibits close friendships like the ones I had before. I'm fine with it, though.

no BFF's at work. just not a good idea. too catty and untrustworthy. sad to say, I know but its just not a good plan. I have a couple of ppl that call me to hash out their work issues but I just listen and never comment.... it will always come back to haunt you.

There is an old Filipino guy that works in the mail room who comes by my desk a couple of times a day and tells my jokes in broken English... he's probably my best friend at work. Otherwise, I like to keep it professional.

Well my work BFF quit but she still is my BFF. I work with a great group of girls and we all go out and sometimes get into trouble with. Also I work for a hotel and EVERYONE gets togther and goes out. I actually have made some of my best friends here (I still hae my other really good friends as well) Althought I dont usually mix my owrk friends with my other friends (but thats because normal people cannot keep up w/ clan of hotel kids)
