Same as hiptobesquare! And yes - my job was always permanent, but when I started I panicked at the idea I'd be there more than three months. It's been a YEAR and three months, and I haven't been able to get even a single interview. I'm so desperate I even started applying at temp agencies, but they won't even get back to me. :(

yes- i came back to a job i'd worked while through university as a favour to them while i was looking for work and they'd just had to fire someone. a year later i'm still here ..... i swore i wouldn't be!! by this time next year if i'm still here then i need to have serious words with myself as it's really just a job and not a career. i'm just counting my blessings to be in work at the moment though and sitting tight till i find something else that's worth while going for. ♥

i actually left my company for a change, came back after a year into what i thought would be a temporary job that would help out my old boss, as well as me...my plan was to take on a nice 9-5 job and work on my own business ideas...but i get restless easily and continued to add more and more responsibility to my position until i got promoted! now i have no free time and still haven't set my entrepreneurial spirit free...someday...

Congrats kscincotta ! to answer the question: nope. I interviewed with the State's Attorneys' Office knowing that if I got the job, I would be here for... well, possibly forever, definitely for a while !

Technically yes, but that's only because my PhD has taken about two years longer than intended. But the end is in sight!

My current job is permanent, but I was on assignment for a temp agency and it was supposed to last about 6 weeks. It turned out to last around a year. It was frustrating because I couldn't get the company's benefits package and I was stuck getting paid what the temp agency was paying me. I really thought at some point they would hire me on full time, but then they did a huge re-org and a lot of positions were eliminated and my boss got fired, so they ended up not needing me anymore.

No, actually I started out as a temp and was promoted and made permanent shortly after starting so that was amazing. HOWEVER, I had an experience where I was temping at this AWFUL company as a receptionist and a few people that I got to know during my time there joked that I could potentially stay as they were temps who were on 5+ years and counting. *shudders* I couldn't have spent another DAY there!
