The smell of seafood in a microwave is not pleasant. The odors lingers.

i can almost get past an annoying cell phone, but what i HATE is the smell of food and fish especially being nuked in the microwave. we have a 'cafe' in our office and they prepare hot foods and the smells waft over towards where my group sits - and let's just say that it's less than pleasant sometimes.

The fish is a million times worse. The phone stops ringing shortly after it starts. Fish smells up the office all day.

Agree with all of the above. The annoying ring only lasts 30 seconds at a time. But it does bug me when people put their phone on vibrate and then just leave it on their desk. Sometimes the vibrating is louder than a soft ring would be!

Ringtones don't cause involuntary nausea for me, so fish in the breakroom is much worse.

The ring tone doesn't last all day like the stinky fish does.

There was a guy that I used to work with that ALWAYS had the stinkiest food for lunch and he'd microwave it in the office break room area. It was so nasty-smelling that you almost couldn't eat your own food. At least with a cell phone, you can move away from the obnoxiousness.
