You absolutely can use the Gold Card without using it as your form of payment. It's simply a membership discount card and is NOT required to be used as payment to receive the discount. Your barista will swipe the Gold Card to provide your discount and then you can pay any other way you choose.

You actually can't get the 10% discount if you are not paying with the Gold Card. However, because the Gold Card is a SBUX card you can register it, thus reaping the rewards of both "cards".

Yes it can, trust me I have done it before. You have to just use your gold card for the discount and then use your registered gift card for payment.

The gold card 10% discount cannot be combined with the free syrup/milk from the sbux card.
