Slumdog Director Continues to Steal the Spotlight

This weekend award season kept on rolling and this time it was all about the directors. Slumdog Millionaire continued its winning streak as Danny Boyle received the night's top honor for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Feature Film at the Directors Guild Awards in LA. This honor helps the movie secure its Oscar worthy odds in a few weeks. Claire Danes brought Hugh Dancy with her to present an award to The Office's Paul Feig while past nominee Sean Penn also took the stage to share a few words. Other presenters included Christian Bale and Josh Brolin, who both looked great in their suits, among the rest of the all-stars out to support the people who direct their talent behind-the-scenes.

Juno, Sicko, Javier and Wild Big at Gotham Awards

In quintessential NY fashion, black ruled at the 17th annual Gotham Awards in Brooklyn last night. Maggie, Uma and Keri all went with it, leaving only Kerry Washington to brighten up the carpet in blue. Into the Wild and Sicko won the best film categories for feature film and documentary respectively. Juno's Ellen Page received the breakthrough acting award, finishing off what must have been an awesome day for the 20-year-old after her Independent Spirit Award nomination. The night also featured tributes honoring Robert Ebert, Javier Bardem (who I can't look at the same way ever since I saw No Country for Old Men, but did look hot last night) and Mayor Bloomberg. Woody Harrelson allegedly choked a TMZ cameraman on Thursday after leaving a Hollywood Nightclub. The cameraman flagged down a policeman and told them of the incident. The police did not acknowledge the cameraman and simply drove away. - TMZ
14 year old Jamie Lynn Spears has cast mate Alexa Nikolas fired from Nickelodeon show "Zoey 101." The girls have not gotten along for some time and last August Britney got involved as well.
