Carrie and Kenny Shine at the Country Music Awards

We already checked out all the red carpet looks and now it's time to get down to the show at last night's Country Music Awards in Nashville. The big winners of the night were Carrie Underwood, who won Female Vocalist of the Year for the second year in a row and Single of the Year for "Before He Cheats," and for the guys Kenny Chesney who won Entertainer of the Year, and Brad Paisley, Male Vocalist of the Year. Check out the full list of winners here. An unexpected highlight for me was Kellie Pickler who got pretty emotional during her song, and on a random note Jamie Foxx's appearance. Meanwhile, I was expecting a whole lot of Jessica Simpson all over the CMAs and she was apparently in the auditorium, but kept herself out of the spotlight - she's more serious about country music than another photo op. Ha. Did any of you watch the show? Favorite moments? Shockers?

A Little Bit Country a Lot Glam on the CMA Red Carpet

It was jeans for some (Kid Rock, of course) and gowns for others at last night's 41st Annual Country Music Awards in Nashville, Tennessee. Nicole Kidman definitely brought the most bang to the red carpet in her bold dress - sure it looks a little like one of those cheesy college dorm felt-y posters, but it's not like she can't pull it off. Carrie Underwood looked typically great while fellow former Idol-er Kellie Picker looked surprisingly demure for her. I must admit that Kate Walsh looked pretty smokin', finding a way to be on our ABC Wednesday night even when Private Practice was preempted for these awards. Keith Is Dedicated to Nicole

Nicole and Keith looked very happy and in love on the red carpet at the 2007 ARIA awards in Sydney on Sunday. The award show recognizes excellence in Australian music and Keith won the award for best country album. When accepting the honor, Keith dedicated the trophy to Nicole who he called his inspiration. He said, "It (the album) would not exist without my wife, she was the inspiration for it... She is very prevalent in most of the songs."

The People Choose Their Nominees

The 2007 People's Choice Awards nominees were announced today by Isaiah Washington and Neil Patrick Harris. Luckily nothing went down between these two, but Isaiah did have to read Patrick Dempsey's name for Favorite Male TV Star. Other nominees included Jen and Vince for favorite on screen duo, Matt Damon for Favorite Leading Man and Favorite On-Screen Match-Up with Leo in The Departed. Congrats to all and vote now so you can see your winners be announced on CBS on Jan 9th.
