Fresh Faces and Performances Keep It Hot at BET Awards

While the red carpet was sunny and colorful in LA last night, the real fun was reserved for the Shrine Auditorium stage at the BET Awards. Some of the best performances of the night were from our young familiar faces like Chris Brown and Rihanna as well as some old favorites like Alicia Keys alongside En Vogue and TLC (minus Left Eye). How cute was it seeing Chris/Rihanna singing along with each other's performances from the audience? Love it. Kanye has said that he's done having tantrums over award shows (though that does not go for everything), but luckily last night he didn't have to walking away with two statues - check out all the winners here. Along with lots of Obama love, Fergie helped close out the show with Nelly her fellow pa-pa-pa-pa-party person before hitting what I'm sure was the real fun at all the after show soirées.

The BET Babes Are Brightening Up the Red Carpet

No two outfits were alike last night on the red carpet of the BET Awards. There were a variety of colors and lengths that showed off some serious stems and beautiful curves. The men were more laid back in sneakers and polos but there were a few cuties like Chris Brown who stood out from the crowd. Jennifer Hudson showed off her new bob while Alicia went from curly to straight and shocking in pink. Always a favorite and unpredictable, Rihanna showed up in a stunning yellow dress. Check out Fab for fun love it or hate it polls and of course Bella has a bunch too. Lil' Kim is usually the outrageous one but she was tame this year and left Lil Mama to look inappropriate.

Jen and Violet Are Favorites All Around

Jennifer Garner is not just your favorite celebrity mom of 2007, she's also a big hit in her home state of West Virigina. The Charleston Gazette named their home state sweetheart West Virginian of the Year. I bet Violet has some of her own best of the year awards to bestow on her mom, like tied with dad Ben for best playground companion of the year, or best stroller pusher. Violet might just beat her mama in best dimples. Hope you're all having a relaxing first (and enjoying your first Jen/Violet pics of 2008). Happy New Year to all of you and here's to another big year of best of moments for all of us.

Halle Berry's Happy Year

Halle Berry looked gorgeous showing off her curves presenting to Benicio del Toro at Monday's ACLU awards, but covered up her baby bump with lots of black fabric while heading out to visit a friend in LA yesterday. 2007 has been a big year for Halle - between her movies, honors and starting the family she's always wanted with her hot model boyfriend Gabriel Aubry. We bet she's looking forward to all the surprises of 2008 as well, and even if marriage isn't in the cards for her and Gabriel we can't wait to see this beautiful couple with their new little one.
