Most of the ladies sparkled and shined on the VMA red carpet last night, but there were a handful of dresses that we didn't love as much as the others. Lauren Conrad is running away with the best dressed crown, but who do you think was the worst dressed on the VMA red carpet?

The night didn't end with Kanye's post-VMAs performance as the stars headed out to the after parties. The girls of The Hills posed together at the Paramount Studios bash before Audrina headed to InTouch Weekly's Icons and Idols party at Chateau Marmont. The Veronicas, Leona Lewis and Good Charlotte all hit the stage performing fun sets for the packed room.

Britney Spears was greeted with cheers of excitement, which must have boosted her confidence before finally scoring her first VMA. The good luck kept coming as she took home three moonmen last night! Britney was "speechless" but then added, "Oh, my goodness, thank you!

The long awaited Britney Spears opening included a pre-taped clip with Jonah Hill before her blink-and-you'll-miss-it intro which was greeted by a touching standing ovation and eventually three moonmen! Host Russell Brand didn't hold back when bashing President Bush, calling Palin a VILF and begging for Obama support. He also mocked the promise ring wearing Jonas Brothers but Jordin Sparks came to their defense and called Brand a slut.

The ladies hit the VMAs red carpet and managed to look cool under the blazing LA sun yesterday afternoon and we were there to get a peek at the action. Lindsay Lohan turned heads in her skintight black dress though I spotted her changed into pants and a sexy top when she made her way into the show with Samantha right behind. We didn't get to see Ashlee Simpson on the red carpet, but I did spot her sneaking in the side entrance to the show right after Pete — I will say that baby bump is huge and she is positively glowing.

They may not get to be as colorful, but the men managed to keep things interesting at the VMAs. Chris Brown was a stand out having a blast on the red carpet handing out hugs to all his friends he ran into along the way like Lupe Fiasco who was gearing up for his big performance. Chris Brown's performance last year still has people gushing, but the topic of the night was Britney.
