The Golden Globe Awards Were...

...A let down to say the least. Feel free to finish the sentence however you want but it's clear this was the most uneventful year in Golden Globe history. The press conference held at the Beverly Hills Hilton included a bunch of entertainment news anchors from ET, E! News, and The Insider who admitted they would never normally be invited to hand out Globes but this year they were pleased to fill in. Bottom line - this strike needs to end. This was an embarrassment to Hollywood's finest and we hope this helps the writers' strike end faster since we've got Oscars and more coming up in the next few weeks and we want more. Click here to see all the winners - the only one I am overjoyed with is David Duchovny winning for best actor in TV Comedy.

Atonement, Charlie, Sweeney, Clayton, Country Score Big at Golden Globe Nominations

Hayden Panettiere, Ryan Reynolds and Quentin Tarantino were out bright and early this morning in LA to announce the nominees for the 65th annual Golden Globe Awards. Check out the full list of nominations here! For movies, in the drama categories, Atonement scored biggest with seven nominations including Best Picture, Director, Actor, Actress (go Keira!), and Screenplay. Michael Clayton and the excellent No Country For Old Men each nabbed four including Best Picture and especially excited to see Clooney Best Actor and Javier for Best Supporting respectively. As for Comedy/Musicals, Charlie Wilson's War got the most nominations with five (including Hanks, Roberts and Seymour Hoffman) while Sweeney Todd nabbing four (including for Johnny Depp and Tim Burton specifically). As expected, Angelina got the nod for A Mighty Heart. I'm also especially excited to see Ryan Gosling nominated for Lars and Casey Affleck for Jesse James.

As for television, sooo excited to see Californication getting nominated in Best Series and Best Actor (yay, Duchovny) along with my beloved 30 Rock. Meanwhile, The Office and even more surprisingly The Sopranos only got one nomination apiece. Also, yay for Pushing Daisies for getting a few nods. Congrats to all the nominees!

Hayden Is Golden Globes' Girl

Hayden Panettiere bundled up for a trip to DC on Thursday with her mom and adorable puppy. The actress was headed east to speak at the Weather Channel's Forecast Earth Summit about her work with the environment and dolphins. Between all the fabulous parties and her many visits to the gym, the young starlet is keeping herself busy these days. Plus, she just added another exciting event to her list - Hayden will get up at the crack of dawn to announce the Golden Globe nominations next Thursday morning in LA. Hopefully, this means she'll have some good news to deliver to her fellow Heroes.
