Kate Hudson Brings Her New Boy and Bikini to Maui

Kate Hudson's recent trip to Aspen must have been a million miles from her mind yesterday as she soaked up the sun in Maui with her latest male companion, the Australian golfer Adam Scott. The two took a dip before retiring back to their towels for some cuddling, though it looks like they didn't indulge in Kate's hobby of scuba diving. She seems to be developing quite a thing for athletes considering her rumored date with A-Rod and her recent romance with Lance Armstrong, and as he moves on with his pregnant girlfriend it's great that Kate's doing the same. After the unexpected success of Bride Wars at the box office, hopefully Kate's new guy is in the mood for some celebrating.

Sundance Has Started!

It's that time of year again! Sundance Film Festival kicked off this weekend which means all of your favorite indie (and not so indie) actors all got bundled up and headed to Park City, Utah. They will spend their time watching great films, doing some interviews, maybe get some skiing in, and oh yeah get a ton of free stuff while partying all night long. The young Hollywood crowd came out for the Motorola Late Night Lounge and it was a pleasure to see some of our favorite boys like Scott Speedman and Adam Brody. Tara Reid was also there continuing to not look drunk or trashy which we love. The way she's looking now, she actually might have a shot with some of these hotties. American Idol Season Eight Goes Out With a Bang

Last night American Idol finalists Kris Allen and Adam Lambert took the stage for the last time, joined by former contestants and big stars alike. Nicole Richie enjoyed her dad's duet with Danny Gokey with Joel and her little sister Sophia, while Victoria and Romeo Beckham took seats in the audience as well. As promised, the night was full of fun surprises from Kara's surprise sing along (and smokin' hot bikini body - who knew?) to an awesome rendition of "We Are the Champions" featuring Queen.

Other favorites were Fergie getting down with the Black Eyed Peas and Allison singing "Time After Time" with Cyndi Lauper - what was your favorite moment? Of course, the biggest surprise of the night may have been Kris's big win, and no one looked more shocked than the new idol himself. Whether or not you agree with the results, both Adam and Kris proved their star power all season and we're sure that we'll be seeing and hearing a whole lot more from these talented boys in the years to come. Idol's Top Eight Go Back to Their Youngest Years

Last night on American Idol, the top eight sang songs from the years they were born. There were cute moments - baby photos! - but as a whole the performances were pretty lackluster. Danny Gokey kicked off the night with a song that was most certainly not released the year he was born (1980), "Stand by Me." This started things off on an odd foot for me because I totally disagreed with the judges - they liked it and I thought it was perhaps his weakest performance yet. This might be the first time he doesn't get the absolute most votes. Kris Allen continued to be the sweetest and, as the judges pointed out, likable contestant, but "All She Wants to Do is Dance" wasn't his most shining moment either. Unfortunately, things only got worse for Lil Rounds's disappointing "Whats Love Got to Do With It" and Scott MacIntyre's "The Search Is Over." Though, who knew he could play the guitar?

Now for the high points: other than Gokey, who is certainly safe, there seems to be a small pack rising to the top. Matt Giraud's "Part-Time Lover" was right on point, even if the judges didn't have time to give him much critique, while Allison Ihareta's "I Can't Make You Love Me" was a refreshing change of pace for her. Anoop, dog, this was light years better than last week, but I'm just not sure he's going to go much further. Then, then there was Adam Lambert. He might be the most divisive contestant this year, but last night's "Mad World" was a gorgeous song and he did it justice. Without time for anyone but Simon to comment, he simply gave Adam a standing ovation. That had to help win over a few reluctant fans. My guesses for the bottom three: Scott, Lil, and, sadly, Kris. American Idol Top 11 Take on Grand Ole Opry

It's Grand Ole Opry week on American Idol, which meant time for everyone to bring out their best country voices - other than Adam Lambert, who decided sitar music was in order. Let's start with the low points. Michael Sarver kicked off the night in an utterly forgettable way, and while he's cute, it might be back to the oil rigs for him. Scott MacIntyre was sadly not on his game and gave a pretty mediocre performance. Also in the middle ground for me: Lil Rounds, Alexis Grace, Allison Iraheta, and cute "tender dog" Kris Allen. And then there was Adam Lambert. Whoa, Adam Lambert. The judges were split on his complete assault on "Ring of Fire." I mean, Allison rocked out, but at least she was country; his sitar-infused rendition of a classic seemed like both cheating and disrespectful of the song. Simon said it best with, "What the hell was that?"

On the other end of the spectrum was Anoop, who totally turned things around looking and sounding amazing (yay). Simon said he went from "zero to hero." Megan looked pretty and wowed the judges despite being sick. Danny Gokey is a bit too schmaltzy for my taste, though the choice of "Jesus Takes the Wheel" was well played - as usual the fans and judges were smitten. In my opinion, the best was saved for last. Matt Giraud sang Carrie Underwood's "So Small" and sounded fantastic behind the piano. Still getting a JT vibe, which is a good thing, though Simon also compared him to Michael Buble. Check out all of Buzz's thoughts on last night too. As for who will be eliminated - I'm going to have to say Michael Sarver or Alexis Grace. Who do you think is going home tonight?

Idol Gets Messy, Melodic and Mustached For Motown Week

The Idols took on Motown last night, which meant a trip to Detroit for the top ten before working with Smokey Robinson on their songs for the week. Matt Giraud kicked off the night perfectly - he was as Justin Timberlake-esque as ever going all out with his awesome rendition of "Let's Get It On" - and it was no surprise that the judges loved it. He was followed up by Kris Allen who made a great choice with "How Sweet It Is" to go with his cute smile and demeanor. Between mostly forgettable Scott MacIntyre and Megan Joy, the judges got a little silly when Paula gave Simon a coloring book and "crowns" (as Simon pronounced crayons). Later in the night, Simon drew a mustache on Paula's face.

After the humor interlude were a few more blah performances from Anoop who sounded good singing "Baby Baby" but as Simon pointed out looked like he might fall asleep, Michael Sarver whose "Ain't Too Proud to Beg" had Simon begging it would end, and Lil Rounds whose "Heat Wave" just didn't heat up. The final three performances were from some of the fan favorites - Adam Lambert was part Elvis part Jonas Brother for his rendition of "Tracks of My Tears," which Simon deemed the best performance of the night. Danny Gokey faltered for the first time this season with "Get Ready Here I Come," which didn't get raves from the judges. Allison finished up the night with a strong "Papa Was a Rolling Stone" proving herself the strongest female left in the competition. As for the bottom three, our guesses are Michael Sarver, Megan Joy and Scott MacIntyre, but we think it's time to say bye-bye to Oil Rig Sarver. American Idol's iTunes Top Downloads Produced a Few Hits

This week the contestants chose from iTunes top downloads, and while the pop hits would suggest guaranteed fun, there seemed to be more letdowns than sing-alongs. After a rocky start with Anoop attempting his best Usher and Megan butchering Bob Marley, Danny Gokey finally wowed the judges with his rendition of "What Hurts the Most" by Rascal Flatts. Allison's outfit distracted the judges so much they barely talked about anything else.

Matt Giraud may be in trouble again this week. He is one of our favorites, and we liked The Fray song he performed surrounded by the audience, but the judges panned him. Lil Rounds dressed like Whitney, and although her voice hit some impressive high notes, her singing wasn't nearly as memorable as her cute kids - including one daughter's hug to Randy. Adam Lambert kept the slicked back hair and showtunes vibe, which the judges continued to eat up. Favorite performances from the night were Scott MacIntyre's beautiful and spot-on Billy Joel performance and Kris Allen's "Ain't No Sunshine." The closing performance by Allen was agreed on by the judges as his best so far, and it certainly left us wanting more of this cute contestant. As for the bottom three, Annop, Megan, and Allison look like they are in trouble this week. American Idol Top 13's First Big Night

Now it's clear why Simon hates when contestants sing Michael Jackson. It's so hard to pull off the King of Pop that most of last night's inexperienced contestants sounded horrible. While I enjoyed reminiscing over how much I miss Michael's music, only a few of the contestants shined while singing his memorable songs. Early favorites like Danny Gokey continued to get the crowd excited with "PYT." Cutie Kris Allen sang "Remember the Time," and while it is cute that he was lovey about his wife, Simon's joke about hiding her a little longer was funny and probably true. Allison's "Heart of Stone" was awesome, as was Matt Giraud closing with "Human Nature." Megan got made fun of for her "Rockin' Robin" song choice and dance moves, but she's still a combination of annoying and cute, so she'll be around next week. Probably also safe are Lil Rounds, Scott MacIntyre, and Alexis Grace.

Overall, the experienced, flamboyant Adam Lambert wowed the judges and the crowd the most with his rendition of "Black or White." While it was a rocky first night for some like Anoop, I think the bottom three will include Jorge, Jasmine, and Michael Sarver.
