Maggie Gyllenhaal met up with Alfre Woodard and Rachael Leigh Cook on Long Island Wednesday night to watch the final presidential debate. Maggie kept her spirits high with other activist women despite the confirmation of some sad personal news. Jake and Maggie's parents officially filed for divorce after over 30 years of marriage. It's always sad to see families go through this, but both Maggie and Jake seem incredibly happy in their relationships if they need some support through this tough time.

NBC Closes Out the TCA Fun

The TCAs wrapped up on Monday with a few fabulous shows from NBC. Zachary Levi and Josh Schwartz revealed fun news about Nicole Richie's role on Chuck, including her very exciting shower fight scene. We also heard from Brooke Shields who's thrilled to get back to work on Lipstick Jungle, especially with Mary Tyler Moore playing her mom. Later in the day we checked in with the ladies of Kath and Kim. Hilarious Selma Blair and Molly Shannon joked about playing a mother-daughter pair being so close in age in real life, saying that they tried to get Dakota Fanning, but the next best was Selma. We can't wait to watch all these shows, both new and old in the Fall and until then, head over to Buzz for more news on the day.

Pres. Barack and Michelle Obama Are Stars of All the Balls

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama went from one ball to the next last night stopping by ten events over the course of their evening. The first stop was at the first ever Neighborhood Ball where there were star-studded performances from Jay-Z to Alicia Keys to Stevie Wonder, but Beyonce belting out "At Last" for the Obama's first dance was particularly touching - you seem to agree. Michelle looked stunning in her Jason Wu gown and the couple couldn't wipe the smiles off their faces all night long. Check out Citizen for all the inauguration coverage. Kanye performed at MTV's "Be the Change" Ball where Demi and Ashton partied while waiting for an appearance from the first couple themselves. Anne Hathaway dazzled in red at the Creative Coalition Ball, so it seems her babysitting skills weren't needed for the night. From start to finish it was a pretty incredible day and celebration as we welcomed a new president, a new first family, and a hope for change.

Desperate Housewives Desperate Again

Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Brad Garrett announced the 58th annual Primetime Emmy award nominations this morning and the big talk is all about how the Desperate Housewives and Lost were left out of the best series nominations. In fact, the only housewife to get a nom was Alfre Woodard. As for those who were Academy favorites this year, 24 got 12 noms, Grey's Anatomy got 11 and Will & Grace received 10. Also kudos to Lisa Kudrow for being nominated for The Comeback. Maybe now HBO will realize that was a show they should have held on to.

The Awards are scheduled to air Aug. 27 on NBC, with Conan O'Brien as host of the Shrine Auditorium ceremony. To see all of the nominees, read more

Lindsay, Samantha, and Emmy Stars Celebrate the Night Away

After the highs and lows of the Emmys show the party really got started. For many, the first stop was the Governor's Ball like Heidi in yet another gown before the other bashes. Some were off to the ET/People bash while others went to hear Samantha Ronson spin at Kress nightclub for the TV Guide soiree. Lindsay Lohan came along for the ride and acted as a pillow for Samantha after a long weekend of gigs. Best Dressed candidate Hayden kept posing pretty before tonight's big Heroes return. The Mad Men folks had a lot to celebrate making history with their Best Drama Series win. In the press room the cast were clearly loving every second of it taking photos of each other on their iPhones, Jon Hamm pretending to light a cigarette as an homage to the Don Draper inside him while January Jones talked about how the first season Betty was "imploding" and this season she's "exploding" - and it looks like they all exploded a bit partying the night away with the rest of the television stars.

Stars Get a Jumpstart on Stocking Up on Emmy Swag

The Emmys aren't until Sunday, but a bunch of stars already got the party started at the style lounges in LA yesterday. Ashley Tisdale, Bar Refaeli, and Stephanie Pratt were just a few of the ladies who took advantage of the opportunity to stock up on new shades, bags, and shoes among other sweet swag. Without Sienna by his side, Balthazar Getty got some male bonding time with Eric Dane before they support their respective shows on Sunday night. While most of these stars won't be up for trophies this weekend, it looks like nobody's going home empty-handed - and you can win big too by filling out an Emmy ballot on Buzz!

TV Premieres Tonight!!!

Lots of premieres especially of 2 of my favorite shows - Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy.

On ABC after the premiere of Extreme Makeover - Home Edition, we finally get to watch the season openers of DH and GA. Last season DH ended with some mysteries solved while others were being set up. Rex died, Tom left his job to stay at home with the kids while Lynette will have to go back to work, Carlos is in jail, Gabriel is pregnant, Susan and Mike are being held hostage by Zach, and there is a new neighbor in town. The mystery of Alfre Woodard's character is supposedly going to come out early - possibly tonight. And then there is Edie. She gets a love interest and its been said its Susan's ex-husband. I would love to see Susan squirm all next season - I'm just so not into her.

As for Grey's Anatomy, last year I raved about the mid-season replacement and I'm psyched ABC kept in on after DH. They are a perfect pair. Last season, Meredith found out that Derek (Dempsey) is married - that slime ball. To makes matters worse, his wife is reportedly joining the hospital so it should make things really difficult for Meredith and Derek to date. Cristina is pregnant thanks to Dr Burke but we hear the baby thing won't be an issue this season - hmm wonder what that means. HBO has an all new Rome followed by the season premiere of Curb Your Enthusiasm and the series premiere of Extraâ€™s. We love Larry David so expect lots of laughs tonight. Extra's is a new show on HBO about one actors quest to land his big break. The 40 year old quits his day job to give acting a shot. Good Luck buddy.

CBS has the premiere of Cold Case and the TV Movie called Martha Behind Bars. Why does Cybill Shepherd have to keep making movies about Martha Stewart? Apparently she is writing music and trying to make a Broadway play out of Martha's life because she thinks this is the role she was destined to play. It's sad when aging washed up actresses try too hard. After Moonlighting it just went downhill for Cybill.

NBC premieres The West Wing, Law & Order: Criminal Intent and Crossing Jordan. I always like the West Wing but I stopped watching when there was so much on at the same time. I like the 8pm Sunday time slot - I will have to give it another shot now that I have room in my schedule.

WB premieres Charmed and Blue Collar TV. Sorry but I don't watch either.
