Amy Adams went for a refined retro vibe in a one-shouldered black-and-white Giambattista Valli number. Tonight's red-carpet ensemble is just further proof that she's nailed that stunning balance between an old-school Veronica Lake movie star and a Disney princess á la Enchanted. While the sweeping floor-length gown spoke for itself, we have to point out her awesome gold bow-tie belt - a perfectly ladylike-cum-quirky accent that provided a gilded boost to the outfit as a whole. She finished off the look with Brian Atwood sandals, Fred Leighton jewelry, and a Judith Leiber clutch. Are you a fan?

The fun continued inside Siren Studios in LA last night for the stars who attended the Vanity Fair and Juicy Couture event cohosted by Shailene Woodley, benefiting her All It Takes charity. Jessica Chastain made the rounds in her daring Alexander McQueen ensemble, chatting with friends like Marcia Gay Harden and Kelly Lynch. Jessica's on the current cover of Vanity Fair, along with fellow attendees like Shailene and Paula Patton. Paula made the rounds and said hello to pals like Ali Larter and Dania Ramirez. The pre-Oscars event was one of the many taking place in and around Hollywood in the run-up to Sunday's ceremony. Amy, Jessica, and More Step Out For a Charitable Vanity Fair Party

Amy Adams, Malin Akerman, and Jessica Chastain were among the stars who turned out for a Vanity Fair and Juicy Couture bash last night at LA's Siren Studios. Shailene Woodley hosted the party as well, as it was held to benefit her All It Takes charity. Many of the attendees are on the front of Vanity Fair's young Hollywood issue, including Jessica, Shailene, and Paula Patton.

The red carpet also brought out Hayden Panettiere, Anna Kendrick, Stacy Keibler, Kate Mara, and a pregnant Molly Sims. Jessica turned heads while posing for the photographers thanks to her plunging dress from Alexander McQueen. Amy kept things simple in a dark ensemble, while Malin upped the glam factor in black and white J.Mendel.

The Muppets: Most Sensational, Inspirational, and Celebrational

It would have been easy to make a new version of The Muppets that relied solely on nostalgia. Just having Kermit and the gang show up to sing some songs would have been fun, but cowriters Jason Segel and Nicholas Stoller have done so much more than that. With a story that appeals to a new generation while still summoning up the magic of the classic characters, they've revived the franchise and created a funny, emotionally rich movie. The film follows Segel as Gary, a sweet everyman taking his girlfriend Mary (Amy Adams) and brother Walter (who happens to be a Muppet) on vacation to Los Angeles. Walter and Gary are huge Muppets fans, so they visit the old theater in LA, but they discover that it's a decrepit structure that's about to get torn down by nefarious oil magnate Tex Richman (Chris Cooper).

Walter and Gary want to warn the Muppets about Richman, but there's one big problem: the gang has split up, which means Gary and Walter have to track them down. Things get really fun as we're re-introduced to the Muppets in their new lives; some have important careers, some are down and out, some are in therapy. It's a clever way of bringing the characters up to date while also acknowledging that the Muppets aren't as popular as they once were. That kind of self-awareness is pervasive and very funny, and with so much humor and a ton of celebrity cameos, The Muppets is a wonderfully sweet comedy that's both loyal to Jim Henson's original intent and updated for modern audiences. Hilary Duff Steps Out With Her Growing Baby Bump and Joins Amy Adams in Supporting a Good Cause

Amy Adams, Hilary Duff, and many other philanthropic stars posed for photos on the gray carpet in front of Mann's Chinese Theatre in LA last night for the official Beauty Book launch party. Hilary was joined at the event by her husband, Mike Comrie, and showed off her growing baby bump in a short, sequined minidress. Hilary's expecting a boy in the Spring, and it seems she's sticking with high-fashion looks instead of traditional maternity wear. Meanwhile, across the street at Hollywood's Roosevelt Hotel her newly single sister, Haylie, was partying with friends at Mindy Kaling's book celebration.

Amy Adams's been hitting the West Coast party scene this month with recent appearances at the LACMA Art + Film benefit and the premiere of soon-to-be children's classic The Muppets. Amy spoke with us at the Muppets premiere and said she's excited to share the film with her daughter and that working with Kermit was a joy.

Did You Rush to Lose the Baby Weight? Amy Adams Didn't!

With the exception of a baked good, a muffin top is not something most women are usually OK with - unless you're Amy Adams. The Muppets star recently told InStyle that the last few pounds of baby weight have been hard to drop. But she's in no rush (Amy gave birth to her daughter in May 2010): "I read about these actresses who get on a stationary bike two weeks after giving birth and I'm like, 'What? Where did you push your baby out of?' Since having Aviana, I have a muffin top, and that's OK right now."

Amy's comments are definitely spot on; given that Hollywood puts an emphasis on beauty, there can be a lot of pressure to maintain a tight and toned bod - even after delivering a child. And regardless of whether you're an actress or not, extra weight gained from pregnancy may be enough to spur any woman into a ramped-up fitness regimen. This isn't the case for everyone, though, as Amy illustrates. For the moms out there, how did you deal with losing the baby weight?

Jason and Amy Double Date With Kermit and Piggy For The Muppets Premiere!

The Muppets shut down Hollywood Boulevard in LA yesterday for the world premiere of their new movie. Kermit the Frog was joined by his whole crew - Gonzo, Rolf, Animal, Fozzy, and newcomer Walter - arriving in a Jeep to kick off the green-carpet processional of stars and puppets. Miss Piggy followed closely behind in her own convertible, wearing Jeremy Scott and Louboutins, and blew kisses to the crowd. We talked to Piggy and Kermit about their return to the big screen, and the pair joked that this film brought them closer together.

We also spoke with some of the human stars including Amy Adams and Jason Segel. Jason said it was a dream come true to work with the Muppets and he plans on inviting all of them, including his puppet brother Walter, over for Thanksgiving dinner so they can reenact the landing on Plymouth Rock. Many of Jason's How I Met Your Mother costars also stepped out to support his latest venture including Alyson Hannigan, Josh Radnor, and Neil Patrick Harris, who has a small role in the film.
