Brad Sits Down With Ann For His Yearly Check-In

Brad Pitt was spotted taking his bike out for a spin in New Orleans yesterday, but today he was back to business, sitting down for another interview with Ann Curry. Last year he explained what his Make It Right Program is all about, which is also the topic that landed him the cover of Architectural Digest. While we wait to see the interview tomorrow, we're already looking forward to Brad all dressed up and walking the red carpet with Angelina at the premiere of The Curious Case of Benjamin Button tonight.

Brad Pitt Shows Ann Curry His Vision

Brad Pitt is taking a few days off from playing stay-at-home dad while Angelina makes Wanted to visit New Orleans and talk about his efforts in the area. I know I've already talked about how hot he looked during his Ann Curry interview, but just look at him gesture -- le sigh. This morning part one of the interview aired on The Today Show. The full video is below, but here are highlights:

On rebuilding New Orleans: I know a lot of the people here. I care very much for the area. I met a 60 year old man who...said [to me], 'I did everything right. I got a job. I bought a home. I raised my kids in that home. They did the same. Now...we're all split apart and we've been wiped out...What do I do?' And he's right...that's unacceptable. So any debate on 'should we rebuild, should we not' -- I'll take you on."
On the lessons of Katrina: It's a justice issue. What we saw [with] Katrina is that there is a portion of our society that's being overlooked. And so, in the aftermath, we're not going to be able to bring back the friends and family that are lost. We're not going to be able to bring back their heirlooms and their photographs. But maybe, this is a question we presented, maybe we can provide a better way of life. Maybe we can find some good out of this. And that has to deal with justice and fairness.”

Brad's only in NOLA for a couple of days before he's set to appear this weekend in the Hamptons. This doesn't mean his philanthropy work for the week is done, however, as he is hitting up the NY summer destination for a charity event to benefit Hurricane Katrina victims hosted by himself and Angelina.

Angelina Lets Her Guard Down, Just A Bit, to Ann Curry

Earlier in the week we got a peek at Angelina talking about avoiding the media coverage of her life in her exclusive new interview with Ann Curry to promote A Mighty Heart. This morning's Today Show aired a portion of the interview, and after watching the clip, I must say that I was impressed by how poised Angelina comes off, even when reduced to tears talking about her mother. On that difficult subject, "I'm at a strange place in my life. I think that that happens when you lose a parent - you drop into a different kind of serious. And yet, at the same time, you want to enjoy and laugh as much as possible every day...I'm holding onto my family really tight at this moment because of that. Brad Pitt Talks Basterds and Superheroes on Today Show

The second half of Brad Pitt's Today Show interview with Ann Curry aired this morning, and this time the focus was on Inglourious Basterds instead of his work in New Orleans or political platforms. Brad talked about working with Tarantino, trying to learn French, and how he only chooses projects based on the "company he keeps" these days. Plus, he chatted about his upcoming animated superhero movie, which is finally something of his all his kids can enjoy. Brad skipped a few of the premieres for Basterds, including the star-studded one in NYC last night, but he's still doing his part to promote the movie, which hits theaters this Friday.

Brad Travels to NYC to Spend Time With Rachel and Eric

Brad Pitt was in producer mode last night as he joined Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams at the NYC premiere of The Time Traveler's Wife, and their good times continued after the screening with an afterparty at the Rouge Tomate. Brad also recently celebrated the upcoming release of his own Inglourious Basterds, but Monday night's outing didn't seem to slow him down as he chatted and drank champagne with Rachel. This morning, an interview he recorded last week in New Orleans aired on The Today Show. He chatted with Ann Curry about his work with Make It Right, as well as a little bit about true love and running for mayor - check out the video below.

Brad, Diane, and Quentin Add Glory and Laughter to Cannes

The cast of Inglourious Basterds posed at a photo call at Cannes today before heading over to their press conference. They all joked around as they smiled for photographers with Brad Pitt perfectly put together in his Tom Ford suit and Diane Kruger looking gorgeous in her LBD. Brad and Angelina Jolie arrived on the scene yesterday and hosted a dinner for 60 guests at the same restaurant where Robert Pattinson was eating. The film festival's star power is going strong now, although Brad still seems to get embarrassed by his fame, as you can see in his interview with Ann Curry after the jump. At the press conference and in his Today Show interview, he speaks about meeting Quentin Tarantino and about his family. Here's more:

On his first meeting with Quentin Tarantino: "He had me at hello . . . We went out together . . . I got up the next morning and saw, like, five empty bottles on the floor and some sort of smoking device on the floor. Then, somehow, six weeks later I was doing the film."
On the cast: "As I get older, it's about the company you keep because you're away from your family. Sometimes for months."
On his family life: "Angie's been working, and I've got to be home a lot with the kids. Let me be the cliche - it's really rewarding . . . Where am I heading? It's still been about discovery, and finding new things and new things of interest. The kids are certainly responsible for a lot of that. I'm right in the zone. One of the most on track [times of my life.]"

Brad appears be in a happy place right now, and we can't wait to see him and Angelina walk the red carpet at the film's premiere later today.

Clooney Talks to Obama About Darfur, King About Aniston

George Clooney was a little underdressed for the 12 degree weather in DC when he stood on the White House lawn to give a satellite interview to Larry King last night. The actor was fresh off meeting with President Obama and VP Joe Biden about the situation in Darfur. George just returned from his sixth visit to the area, this time joining reporters such as Nicolas Kristof and Ann Curry. With the President of Chad expected to be indicted for war crimes soon, Clooney sees this as an opportunity for Obama to step up and help the affected regions and the people who are "hanging on by the skin of their teeth." He also presented the President with 250,000 postcards collected by Save Darfur. George lightened things up at the end by joking that he was going to star in a remake of Friends, "playing the Jennifer Aniston role." Clooney takes the topic of Darfur very seriously but always finds a way to appropriately let his inner jokester shine through too.
