Jennifer, Jessica and Gisele Get Into (A Disney) Character

The fabulous Annie Leibovitz has teamed up with Disney again to shoot the "Year of a Million Dreams" gift promotion ad campaign. In 2007 it was Becks, Beyonce, and Scarlett, and this year Annie's gathered a new group of famous faces to recreate scenes from Disney movies. Gisele joins Mikhail Baryshnikov and Tina Fey (as Tinkerbell - brilliant!) in a scene from Peter Pan, while Jessica Biel takes on the role of Pocahontas (perfectly cast as well). J Lo and Marc are on Aladdin's magic carpet, while Whoopi Goldberg's a Genie in a Bottle. We're used to seeing our favorite celebrities in different roles, but it's always fun to see them reinterpret the classics.

The Hollywood Issue is Back and it's Darker Than Ever

When it comes to photographing stars, you can't get any bigger than Annie Leibovitz. It's no surprise, then, that when Vanity Fair decided to do a film noir themed shoot for their annual Hollywood Issue, Annie was once again in charge. The result is VF's biggest issue ever, appropriately called Killers Kill, Dead Men Die. The amazing portfolio is just packed with celebs like Jessica Alba and Biel, Penelope Cruz, Robert DeNiro, Bruce Willis, and Kate Winslet - just to name a small few. If you can't wait for the issue check out a video showcasing some of the shots, or a cool slideshow of behind-the-scenes pics including Ben Affleck with his trusty Starbucks and Kirsten Dunst getting ready for the shot. The Hollywood issue is always one of our favorites so we look forward to tearing our issue apart this weekend.

David Beckham Makes a Charming Prince

Photographer to the stars Annie Leibovitz has been recruited to photograph some huge celebs for Disney World's Year of a Million Dreams campaign. So far she's turned Scarlett Johansson into Cinderella (with the help of a Harry Winston $325,000 tiara), Beyonce into Alice in Wonderland, and David Beckham into a prince (wait, he wasn't one already?). Guess which one is our favorite so far? Here's more:

Leibovitz, who will soon dress another set of celebrities as Peter Pan, Tinker Bell and Little Mermaid Ariel, approached British soccer superstar (and new American import) David Beckham, with the concept of playing Sleeping Beauty's Prince. She asked the 31-year-old whether "prince" was an image he would feel comfortable portraying. Not surprisingly, Beckham was game, and the image was photographed near a lake outside Madrid, where he had been playing soccer for the team Real Madrid. The castle superimposed in the background is from Disneyland Paris.

"I'm the prince, and I'm sort of slaying a dragon, which is something I've never done before, obviously," Beckham says in the Disney press materials. "When I was called about it and asked to do it, I was very honored and really looking forward to it, especially with Annie doing the pictures."

Kirsten Can't Sell Vogue

Kirsten may be one of the highest paid actresses, making anywhere between $8-$10 million a picture, but that doesn't mean she sells well on the newsstand. Anna Wintour was evidently not happy with Kirsten's Marie Antoinette shots for the September Vogue and demanded it be re-done. It caused a little tiff between the editor and Dunst's publicist. Sources say megapublicist Stephen Huvane was badmouthing Wintour to "anyone who would listen" earlier this fall after wrestling with her over the September issue's portfolio of Kirsten Dunst. Wintour was dissatisfied with the initial images from the Annie Leibovitz shoot, which took place at Versailles and featured elaborate costumes from Marie Antoinette, and demanded it be redone-prompting Huvane to wonder aloud to several friends whether Wintour hasn't amassed too much clout.

In the end, he may have had a point: the cover was a flop on newsstands, selling far fewer copies than the September 2005 issue with Sarah Jessica Parker. "There was some back and forth, but we worked with [Huvane] and worked it out," says a Vogue spokesman. Huvane declined to comment. As for the September issue's low sales numbers, the Vogue rep says, "We knew going in that it wasn't going to be a commercial cover, but we were very pleased with it."

No Vogue rep would be happy with an issue that didn't sell well on newsstands - especially the coveted September issue which is huge in the fashion world. It doesn't look like it's hurting Kirsten's career at all if she's still one of the top paid actresses. For more pics just read more

Carrie and Big Have Baggage, but It's Fabulous

Sarah Jessica Parker was decked out in a Chanel suit with Chris Noth yesterday for a photoshoot shot by the fabulous Annie Leibovitz. Could it be an amazing cover story or some simple Sex and the City movie promo shots? They accessorized with a couple of LV suitcases perhaps preparing for their honeymoon. If you can handle building a little more suspense before their movie hits screens in two months, check out this video over at Fab that features all of the SATC ladies talking about their incredible wardrobes and the amazing work of Pat Field. Vogue Gets a Dose of Nine's Gorgeous Gals

Nicole Kidman, Kate Hudson, Penelope Cruz, and Marion Cotillard grace the cover of Vogue's November issue in various shades of red to promote their highly anticipated Nine movie. We saw them at the Annie Leibovitz shoot back in February, and the final product looks beautiful. Inside the magazine all of the film's actresses, including Sophia Loren, Judi Dench, and Fergie, posed together. The article gives us a glimpse at how fun filming was for the girls, and Kate even described the experience as "Summer camp." Here are some highlights:

Penelope on her tortured character in the film: "Luckily I don't have to identify with my roles, because if I did I would be dead by now! I've been working since the age of seventeen, and I really haven't stopped. I want to balance it a little more. Instead of making three or four movies a year, I will do one."
Nicole on coming back to work after Sunday Rose: "I had no desire to work after I had my daughter, but to lure me back, this movie was the only way. [But] I'm not playing Claudia Cardinale. Even when I played Virginia Woolf I didn't take the real woman into account."
Kate on getting a role: "I spent most of my childhood singing and dancing and just never had the chance to do it professionally. So when I got the chance to work with Rob, I was so excited, I was out of my mind."

Biggest Headlines of 2008: Miley Cyrus's VF Scandal

We've been counting down the biggest headlines of 2008, and we'll be revealing more as the year comes to a close. We hope you enjoy this look back at some of the posts and stories that created the most buzz throughout the year.

Miley Cyrus continued to skyrocket to fame in 2009, becoming a worldwide superstar that some compare to Britney Spears. However, Miley found herself in the midst of a scandal after posing for a Vanity Fair photo shoot with Annie Leibovitz in April. The main photo of Miley draped in a bed sheet with her bare back exposed had parents very upset that the then-15-year-old Disney role model was setting a bad example for her fans. Her parents made it seem like they had left the shoot early, although VF claimed the opposite and defended the photo, while Annie argued that the picture was just "misunderstood."

Miley issued an apology to her fans saying that the shoot was "supposed to be 'artistic'" but that she was now "embarrassed." Disney thought the magazine took advantage of the teen star and even vowed to keep Miley out of the spotlight until the storm passed, which had intensified after personal photographs of Miley were leaked on the Internet. She also got in a bit of trouble when she and a friend made a video mocking Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato. Since then, things have calmed down for the young singer, and in a recent interview she stated she'd love to work with Annie again and maybe even take up photography herself.

Penelope, Nicole, Kate and Marion Glam Up the Beach

Nicole Kidman joined her Nine costars Penelope Cruz, Marion Cotillard and Kate Hudson yesterday for a Vogue photo shoot with Annie Leibovitz in Malibu. Penelope was the only one dressed for the beach, while Nicole accessorized her floor length red gown with an old-timey parasol. We're only 3 days away from Sunday's Oscars, and current nominee Penelope was lucky to have past winners Nicole and Marion close by in case she needed any tips on her acceptance speech. Don't forget to fill out a ballot with your predictions about who will take home the trophies as we gear up for the big weekend.

Fashion Week Brings Together an Unlikely Crowd

This weekend Fashion Week was in full swing with many celebrities focused on the runways. Sarah Jessica Parker and Anna Wintour laughed and chatted at Alexander Wang while Hilary Duff came out again for Donna Karan, who she now will be working with. Baz Luhrmann Gets Some Love From His Stars and Friends

While one star of Australia was elsewhere in town at the women of the year awards, Hugh Jackman got dressed up to honor director Baz Luhrmann at the MoMA. The handsome actor was just one of the stars out looking fabulous alongside Jessica Biel in a simple LBD and Rachel Weisz in one with flattering pink accents. Maggie Gyllenhaal draped herself in fur - can you tell if it's faux or not? - while Peter kept the fuzziness on his face. Nicole Kidman was expected to stop by after her Glamour event to help get everyone excited for their big release just a few weeks away as well as raise money and awareness for the museum's growing film collection.
