Matthew Takes His New Project and Baby Joy to SF

Matthew McConaughey was joined by Michelle Obama, Jon Bon Jovi, and others at the National Conference For Service and Volunteering in San Francisco yesterday. Before Bon Jovi took the stage to perform, MM shared a few words about his j.k. livin' foundation and new baby on the way. He said,

"We are putting after-school fitness and wellness programs into underserved communities nationwide, teaching physical fitness, nutrition education, with an emphasis on daily gratitude for how much or how little we have. And now that I'm blessed to be a father myself - I got one at home [Levi] who's 11 months and as you people know, we have another one in the oven, three months - this foundation and its cause means even more to me."

We've got several months to wait before MM's new addition is here, but it sounds like the proud papa will be keeping us updated on both his family and his personal projects along the way.

Jennifer and Marc Take a Noche For Los Ninos

Jennifer Lopez worked the red carpet with Marc Anthony before lightening things up behind the podium at the Noche de Ninos Gala benefiting the Children's Hospital of LA on Saturday night. Jennifer talked about how a medical scare with her daughter Emme inspired her to start a foundation providing medical services to families in need. In the spirit of Mother's Day, she also debuted a brand new song she wrote for the twins. After an evening of giving back, Sunday was all about Jennifer celebrating her second year of motherhood.

The Lakers Star-Studded Front Row Kicks Off NBA Season

The LA Lakers helped kick off the NBA season last night with their celebrity cheering section out in full force. David Beckham was front and center as usual to support his fellow professional athletes, but this time without his pint-size fans, while longtime Lakers lovers Leonardo DiCaprio and Kevin Connolly enjoyed a guys night out. Denzel Washington and his wife joked around with Governor Schwarzenegger, while Tobey Maguire watched intently. The Lakers handily defeated the Portland Trailblazers to start off a season that they and all their star fans hope is full of wins like that one.

Jennifer Gets Personal to Inspire Other Women

Jennifer Lopez was joined by heavy-hitters like California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and the richest man in America Warren Buffett at the 2008 Women's Conference in Long Beach today. She made a speech at the event and despite her big smile, opened up about some painful lessons she's learned in her personal life. Jennifer said, "I have been in relationships that can make you doubt who you are and what you are capable of, and doubt what you deserve. It took me a bit little longer to get it right." Whomever she's referring to, it's clear that she's ready to inspire others with the happiness she's found in her newly-renewed marriage.

Christian Bale's Bright Weekend

Christian Bale spent a low-key weekend around the neighborhood with his girls. On Saturday he and Sibi had their own celebrity sighting when they ran into Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver at the Brentwood Country Mart in LA. Sunday, Christian played the perfect doting dad to Emmeline, who looked too precious in her Small Paul blue robe as they strolled down the street holding hands, and yesterday Christian and Sibi were spotted at a garden party together. The Dark Knight continues to hold its own, but it looks like Christian would rather spend the weekend being a family man than thinking about those box office stats.

The umpteenth installment of Rocky premiered last night in Hollywood and lots of celebs came out to cheer on their favorite champ. The story is pretty much the same as always. Rocky comes out of retirement and steps back into the ring. Will he have what it takes to make it? Even if you aren't excited about yet another Rocky sequel, you have to admit it's pretty cool to see these old guys (sorry - showbiz greats) together again. It makes us all nostalgic for the Planet Hollywood days. You know they're still having a great time. Milo, however, who plays Rocky Jr., hasn't gotten the memo that premieres are supposed to fun. Smile, Milo! Save the serious actor face for Heroes!
