Here's a new single from Rihanna featuring her boyfriend Chris Brown, supposedly off the upcoming Confessions of a Shopaholic soundtrack. It's right on theme about her love of, what else, shopping and brand names. As usual, Rihanna brings something unique, but it might not be catchy enough to be a hit. Winona Shares A Lot About Her Private Life

Winona Ryder sat down for a photo shoot and chatted about her life in the latest issue of BlackBook magazine. She has a film, The Private Lives of Pippa Lee to promote, but Winona had plenty of other things to discuss. Winona talked about a variety of topics, from her famous exes like Matt Damon and Johnny Depp to her feelings about Angelina Jolie winning the Oscar for Girl, Interrupted. Here's more:

On dating Johnny Depp: "Things changed for me when I met Johnny. This weird thing happens when you’re written about in magazines, where you start to think, 'This is who I am. This is how I have to be.' I felt restricted and pressured into being the way people perceived me. It was hard for me to find my footing. The Johnny thing made me really afraid of the press because, even though it was about him, I was beside him the entire time."
On her relationship with Matt Damon: "Matt couldn’t be a greater, nicer guy. I’m really lucky that I’m on good terms with him. . . With Johnny, it’s like we’re good, but we lead very different lives. I was out at a bar with a friend who said, 'Do you realize that in America you’re never going to be able to meet a guy who knows nothing about you? Everyone will have preconceived ideas about who you are.' I got so bummed out. I’d never really thought about it that way."
On knowing Angelina Jolie since Girl, Interrupted: "I never had any bad feelings about Angelina. . . And I was hurt that people thought that. Everyone assumed I was really jealous because I thought this would be my vehicle. . . We said from the very beginning that the actress who played Lisa would probably win an Oscar, because it was the big, great, showy part. But I always related to Susanna. I fought very hard for her to have that part, and I never really felt like I got the chance to know her."

Christina Applegate Is Good Girl/Bad Girl, Who?

Christina Applegate got herself a fancy updo to head into Regis and Kelly to promote her new TV show Samantha Who. Considering she is often the best part of whatever project she works on, I have high hopes that she'll add some awesome female-lead funny into primetime TV. On the show Christina plays a girl who wakes up after a car crash not remembering anything, only to learn that she was a pretty nasty person beforehand. Christina talked to Access Hollywood about her show, and playing the good girl/bad girl role. She said:

Via the flashbacks on the show, you get to play both good and bad.
She was pretty awful but I love getting to play bad Sam, it is a lot of fun. It is a different hair, different voice, different walk, it’s a different behavior. It’s a lot of fun in the middle of the week to be able to switch gears and do something different.

You may have yourself a winner with this series.
It would be nice (knocks on wood). I really do like this show. I get to watch the cuts before they go off and I’m really proud of what everyone is doing. [Pilots are so hard]. You try to get all this information into 22 minutes, but the rest of them? Now we get these characters and you get to see them flourish and live. It’s quite good if I say so myself.

Hopefully the world will feel the same when they meet Miss Samantha tonight. Check out Buzz to see some previews of the show, tonight at 9:30 on ABC. I've got a (pathetically) full TV schedule these days, but I may have to make room for one more.

Do You Think Teen Shows Set a Bad Example For Young Girls?

It's no secret that we're huge fans of teen shows like Gossip Girl, The Hills, and 90120, but now that our guilty pleasures are back we can't help but question some of the examples set by the characters. America Ferrera even told Seventeen magazine that she thinks these three shows in particular are encouraging girls to be mean to each other. What do you think - do teen shows set a bad example for young girls?

Anne Really Wants You To Think She's A Bad Girl

This isn't the first time Anne has promoted her bad girl side, but she's definitely taken it to a higher level in the August issue of Marie Claire. We really enjoy her as the sweet and innocent good girl we saw in The Devil Wears Prada and The Princess Diaries, however, Anne makes it pretty clear that she doesn't love her good girl reputation. Here's more from the article:

On not being a prude:
“I love [the band] Peaches. When people are all like, ‘Do you think you have a squeaky-clean image?’ I’m like, ‘Could a squeaky-clean girl know all the lyrics to ‘Teaches of Peaches’? I mean, my favorite song is called ‘F-k the Pain Away.’”

On bursting into tears during Brokeback Mountain:
“Didn’t stop for an hour. And Kirsten Dunst, who was going out with Jake, was like two rows behind me, and [Jake’s sister] Maggie Gyllenhaal was right behind me, and we were all crying so hard; my boyfriend offered Maggie his hankerchief, and she was sharing it with Kirsten. And I’m thinking, That’s my boyfriend’s – can I have my Kleenex that you b-tches are using?”

Sure, being a bad girl is fun but it sounds like she's trying way too hard to prove something - and we really like her as a nice girl. Besides, with all the bad girls in Hollywood already, we're tired of that type.

Lindsay Finds More Trouble With Fashion and the Ronsons

Lindsay Lohan chatted on her cell over the weekend in Paris after all her Fashion Week festivities. Her first presentation with Ungaro didn't get the best reviews, and unfortunately that's not where LL's bad press is ending. She's also in trouble with the label Arielle de Pinto, after apparently canceling the credit card she'd used as collateral to borrow pieces from their showroom. One person who may not be seeing LL's new clothes is Samantha, as Lindsay tweeted that the Ronsons are keeping the girls apart. Lindsay's never lacking for unsolicited advice, but the latest person to weigh in is Spencer Pratt - he wrote on Twitter that the Ronsons' intervening "sounds like a good idea."

Leighton Meester's first official single, "Somebody to Love" featuring Robin Thicke, premiered on Ryan Seacrest this morning, and once again it's all about the catchy hooks and pop sound. The Cobra Starship track "Good Girls Gone Bad" became something of a Summer anthem, and most of you were loving it from the get-go. Rihanna's a Good Girl Gone Bad Again

Some people work hard then play hard, but for Rihanna it's the reverse. After partying on Tuesday night to mark the re-release of Good Girl Gone Bad, she spent yesterday taking care of business with a stop by 106 & Park before performing with Ne-Yo at Madison Square Garden. Despite the looming work, it seems like she had a blast at her celebration with that big cake decorated with her photo. Between the sparklers (love that she didn't let the BlackBerry out of her hand) and the fun with frosting, it looks like a night to remember. Too bad Chris Brown wasn't there to help lick some of that cake off of her face, like a couple of other lovebirds we know.

Christina Ricci: A Nice Girl and A Bad Girl

Christina Ricci knows how to work the camera. She's been playing it up in recent photoshoots and this one in ELLE Magazine’s Green Issue is no exception. In the interview she talks about being short, sexual and a bad girl. We're still in shock over that JT sex scene. Anyway, we digress, let's get back to the Elle interview. Here's more:

On being just five feet tall: “Because I’m small, a lot of what I call ‘theoretical clothing’-high-concept, architectural stuff-doesn’t work on me.”

On being sexual in front of the camera: “I’m totally comfortable being raw and emotional in front of people. Being sexual is harder.”

On being a bad girl: “You can be a bad girl and still be a nice person. Who says the two are mutually exclusive?”
